A week had passed since Endora's death, and Emma could not come to terms with the fact that she would never hear her voice again, that she would never appear to save her when she needed her most, that she would never receive one of her warm hugs. After what had happened, and now that the pack was free again, there was no need to rush into the mating ritual. At least, that's what Emma thought, but she had to admit that Asher's insistence on having the ceremony was a balm for the little doubts that sometimes arose in her own mind.
