In the days that followed, Emma spent her time locked in that room under Asher's constant supervision, and whenever duty forced him to leave, Endora always took the opportunity to visit her. She had spent more time asleep recovering than conscious, but whenever she opened her eyes, she found Asher by her side. She was never alone, he was always there. Sometimes beside her in bed, sometimes sitting in an armchair reading a book, and sometimes staring at the fireplace as if he saw something very interesting in the fire, but always in the room, watching over her.
