No matter how much his wolf urged him to take her right then and there, Asher knew that he couldn't give in to his animal instincts if he wanted Emma to trust him. He couldn't understand why he wanted Emma to feel safe in his presence. He had been too quick to discard the idea that she was a witch, but he couldn't deny the intensity of his feelings. Asher longed to earn her confidence, to dispel any doubts she might have. As the Alpha of the pack, he had other, more forceful methods at his disposal, but he didn't want to use them with Emma. He just wanted her to open up and trust him.
