Chapter 3 Taking Charge
Zhongjing Pharmacy.
Ye Fu refused surgery, so Ye Fei needed to detoxify his father. He made his way to Zhongjing Pharmacy, the top traditional Chinese medicine store in Jiangbei with branches across the country, offering a wide range of Chinese medicinal materials.
"Sir, what can I assist you with?" the courteous attendant inquired.
Ye Fei already had a list in mind. He handed it over: "Please prepare these medicinal herbs for me in two sets."
The well-trained waiter swiftly packed the herbs.
"Your total comes to three hundred," the waiter said.
After paying, Ye Fei was about to leave when a loud screech outside caught his attention.
Two robust men rushed in carrying a person, pleading for help.
"Doctor Zhang, please save our boss!"
In a back room, an elderly man emerged: "Quick, get the patient on the bed."
Ye Fei hesitated, recognizing the patient as Chu Meiting's father, Chu Jiang, the chairman of the Chu Group.
He followed into the ward, where Doctor Zhang examined Chu Jiang and sadly declared it was too late.
The men were devastated, but Ye Fei intervened, suggesting they try resuscitation before giving up.
Doctor Zhang was skeptical, but Ye Fei insisted on trying to save Chu.
The tension in the room escalated as Ye Fei stood his ground, determined to help.
The sturdy man's face brightened, gesturing quickly for Ye Fei to assist. "Please, save Chu."
When Zhang Zhongji heard someone else being called a 'divine doctor', he was immediately displeased. "I warn you, if anything goes wrong, it's not my responsibility."
"I'll take full responsibility," Ye Fei said firmly.
Zhang Zhongji was speechless, turning to stand aside with a mocking look in his eyes, waiting to see Ye Fei's skills.
Ye Fei looked at Chu Jiang, whose face was turning blue and lips were dark. He raised his palm, pressed it against his throat, and pushed forcefully towards his chest. At the same time, his other hand was behind Chu Jiang, pushing upwards from below.
Onlookers see the fun, experts see the doorway.
Zhang Zhongji, who was originally waiting to see a joke, suddenly raised his eyebrows, his expression showing seriousness.
Ye Fei's massage technique was extremely skilled, as if he had been immersed in this art for many years, not inferior to an experienced old Chinese doctor.
"I underestimated this kid. I didn't expect him to be so skilled. But if he wants to save someone, I'm afraid he still has a long way to go."
Just as this thought popped into his mind, Ye Fei's technique suddenly changed.
Raising his palm high, his index finger like a long needle, he pierced Chu Jiang's acupoint.
"Using the finger as a needle? The Life-taking Needle!"
Zhang Zhongji's mouth could fit a light bulb, his eyes full of shock as he blurted out.
Ye Fei glanced back at him, a smile playing on his lips. "I didn't expect Doctor Zhang to be so knowledgeable. You actually recognized it."
Zhang Zhongji's lips trembled, his eyes filled with excitement. "I once saw it in my grandfather's manuscript. The Life-taking Needle has long been lost, and reaching the level of using the finger as a needle is extremely rare. The secrets behind it have long been lost. I wonder where you learned it from?"
Ye Fei smiled slightly, but did not answer.
Zhang Zhongji came back to his senses, a hint of embarrassment flashing across his old face.
His question was indeed impolite. Such a superb medical skill must have an extraordinary origin. Who would easily tell an outsider?
At that moment, Chu Jiang on the sickbed suddenly started breathing rapidly, and slowly opened his eyes.
"Chu Zong!"
Two sturdy men were moved to tears, speaking incoherently with gratitude.
Ye Fei moved his wrist, picked up the medicinal herbs he had bought, and turned to leave.
"Young friend, can you stay and chat for a while?" Zhang Zhongji quickly raised his hand, his face full of anticipation.
Ye Fei didn't even look back, "I still have my elderly father at home, it's not suitable to stay long, let's talk another day."
Zhang Zhongji's eyes were filled with extreme disappointment, his mouth opened and closed several times, and he reluctantly swallowed back the words he was about to say.
Just as Ye Fei reached the door, a car suddenly sped towards him, with Chu Meiting inside.
"Ye Fei, what are you doing here?"
"I came to buy medicine." Ye Fei looked at Chu Meiting, whose eyes were red from crying, and comforted her, "Your dad is fine, don't be too sad. Go see him first, we'll talk later if there's anything."
Worried about her father, Chu Meiting didn't say much and quickly walked inside.
Ye Fei saw the driver lighting a cigarette and casually asked, "Bro, what's going on with Mr. Chu? Why did he suddenly fall ill?"
The driver rolled his eyes and said impatiently, "It's all because of that crazy woman from the Zhao family, who knows what's wrong with her brain? She claimed that the young miss had run off with her daughter's fiancé, which made Mr. Chu sick."
Ye Fei touched his nose, realizing that this incident was also related to him.
Everything has its own fate.
