Hunter and his troops had returned to from their search for Amelia, and my loyal soldier, a trusted confidant, was the key to my hidden agenda. This soldier, whose loyalty to me ran deeper than his allegiance to Hunter, had agreed to venture ahead of the troop and find Amelia before Hunter could, giving me the upper hand.
