There is a sadness in his tone that makes my heart weep. It's clear that he loves and respects his father and that he is worried about what this change might mean, for us, for his family, for the pack… Unsure of how I can give Edward the comfort that he clearly needs, I simply rub my hand up and down his arm and send as much reassurance and understanding as I can through our connection. Silence builds between us, but after a while Edward runs his tongue against his bottom lip and averts his gaze as though he's nervous about something.
