Chapter 27

I feel as though I'm under water. Everything is blurry and quiet; peaceful even, but there's something in the distance calling me, trying to get my attention. I attempt to open my eyes, but my eyelids feel too heavy and aren't willing to cooperate. A rich, spicy fragrance that makes me feel safe, flows through my nose and I can feel myself turn in its direction. Strong, but slightly callused fingers, run down the side of my face, shooting heat in their wake. I moan softly in response. "Bella? Wake up, sweetheart."
