The night air was thick with ash and tension, still carrying the weight of Sienna’s twisted speech in the courtyard. Inside the outer edge of the Crescent Moon stronghold, past the low stone walls and torch-lit paths, stood a humble dwelling made of dark wood and pressed clay. It was one of the older homes, tucked between the enforcers’ barracks and the training field quiet, overlooked.
Within its low walls, Lucy and Ella’s home flickered with the dull orange light of a small hearth. Pelts lined the floor like forgotten shadows. The roof, reinforced with woven branches and dried leaves, creaked faintly in the wind. The interior was warm but sparse two beds separated by a curtain of old fabric, shelves with dried herbs and worn blades, a table scarred from years of restless carving.
