Chapter 4

Eight cardiologists were behind him, all top figures in the industry. Ronan coldly looked at the chief surgeon in the operating room and asked, "Who is she?" She was wearing a medical mask, only revealing a pair of clear eyes. Strangely, her eyes seemed familiar to him. "She is..." Kolten looked over, his heart racing. If he told the truth, Ronan might kill him right away. Ryker flew into a rage and snapped, "How can Shepard Hospital be so irresponsible? Does she even have a medical license or any related experience? Do you think whoever is bold enough can operate on Sir Lucero? What were you thinking about?" "Mr. Erickson, please hear me out!" Kolten was so frightened that he felt limp all over, too nervous to say a single word. The other doctors in the observation room were all scared out of their wits. Although Georgia was trembling with terror, she bit the bullet and replied, "Dr. Randy Conrad said if anything happened to Sir Lucero, he would take full responsibility." "Nice try. Yet none of you will get away!" After Georgia heard that, her face turned pale, at a loss for words. "Mr. Lucero, should we let our experts in to rescue Sir Lucero right now? I will handle the chief surgeon and her assistant. None of these people can get away with it." After finishing speaking, Ryker indifferently glanced around. He had just made up his mind to let them pay a heavy price for their reckless behavior! Suddenly, the eight experts behind Ronan began to exclaim in surprise. "She separated all the adhesion." "Not a single blood vessel is injured, and even the heart tissue is intact. And she is holding the scalpel with her left hand!" "How did she do it?" It was an extremely difficult surgery, but Abigail was handling it effortlessly as if it were as easy as brushing her own teeth. After dealing with the adhesion, she raised her beautiful eyes. Her refined demeanor made her look even more impressive. "Professor Hood, who is she?" "Is she a new doctor at the hospital? I wonder if I can have the honor to consult her later?" "I also have some questions to ask her." Not only Ryker but everyone else present was shocked. "What she accomplished is amazing!" "Even experienced experts cannot guarantee they can separate all the adhesion within such a short time." "Maybe she just looks young. Inside her could be the soul of an old doctor." It was hard to explain why she could do such a thing. Ronan remained solemn. His handsome eyes showed inquiry, but no one could tell what was on his mind. Georgia couldn't help but mock. "Even though she didn't hurt the blood vessels or heart tissue, there is not much tissue left around his heart valves, given that Sir Lucero had undergone too many surgeries. He has only a few mitral valve annuli, which makes it hard to place the artificial heart valves." This was one of the reasons why they had hesitated to perform surgery. "Georgia!" Kolten hissed in dissatisfaction. Georgia put on a righteous expression as she went on, "I just want everyone to know Sir Lucero has a serious heart infection and tissue edema. It will be extremely difficult to suture the artificial valves. If there is any problem with her suture, Sir Lucero's heart function will not recover. And there is a high possibility of serious complications." Kolten knew she desired to stir up trouble, so he hurriedly said, "Mr. Lucero, the surgeon's medical skills are excellent. I think she'll be able to handle it well. What's more, Dr. Randy Conrad is her assistant. He's from a family of doctors and is a talented doctor himself. Plus, his grandfather is Vincent Conrad, a well-known doctor both at home and abroad." Vincent Conrad? Ronan knowingly blinked. The male assistant turned out to be Randy, Vincent's only grandson. He had also invited Vincent over today, but Vincent had not arrived yet because of a traffic jam. Seeing Ronan remain silent with an indifferent face, Kolten trembled in fright, wondering what he was thinking about. Soon, Abigail's superb suturing skills made all the doctors present feel inferior. She finished the surgery perfectly. Nothing went wrong! Irving survived! "Take him back to his ward," Abigail ordered. After she washed her hands and walked out of the operating room, many doctors waiting outside applauded her for her medical skills. Seeing this, Georgia couldn't help clenching her fists so hard that her nails dug into her palms. She had not expected this damned girl to be so capable. When Irving was wheeled out of the operating room, many doctors stepped forward to confirm whether he was still breathing. Then, they found his condition quite stable. "Please get back to your own position. The patient needs to rest." Randy knew Abigail must have been tired. After all, they spent two hours in the operating room, fully concentrated. It was already 2 P.M., so he assumed that she must be hungry, too. After the doctors had come to watch the fun dispersed, only Ronan, the eight cardiologists, Kolten, and Georgia left. Randy turned to Abigail and said, "I'll take Sir Lucero back to his ward now. Be right back." Abigail nodded and took off her mask, revealing her delicate and bright face. "Where's the family?" Abigail asked. A man stepped forward and stood in front of her.
