Chapter 49 Can They Do It?

Thomas opened his eyes weakly. When he saw his son-in-law in front of him, he knew he was safe. He knew everything would finally be okay, and they could finally find his wife. He tried to sit up, but his bones gave way, and Asher rushed to help him. Asher picked him up and brought him out of the room just as Lucas and his men entered the building. He sensed their presence and directed Lucas to them in the mind link. Asher placed Thomas on a chair, helping him to sit up. The door opened, and Lucas and his men came in. Lucas’s face spoke of his shock at the dead men he had passed on his way to the room, but seeing who was sitting in front of Asher, he couldn’t stop himself from saying, “Mr. Martins.”
