Chapter 12 Five Years

Alaric had followed Mariah all day and when he saw her walking away after saying goodbye to her friend who was picked up in one of those moving beasts, he followed her silently, concealing his presence so as not to startle her or even make her teleport. He knew he was going to succeed today, after all, she was not with Aspa’s offspring and even though his strength was not as it used to be, he had recovered a tiny bit more than he had when he woke up. So, he would be able to handle a little more of Aspa’s offspring’s power should he show up. He was still contemplating how to carry out his plan when she stopped walking and was looking around. Intrigued, he had hidden behind a tree to know what was going on. But to his utmost surprise, she started taking off her clothes. His shock was so real that he lost control of his spell to hide his presence and she had caught on instantly for she turned sharply.
