Everything went back to the way it was before. It felt like Brent was just a brief part of her life because after that day, she never saw his car parked outside his aunt's house again. He didn't even ask for her number. She felt lonelier now than when he hadn't returned, probably because her heart was still hoping. Maybe it was better that he didn't reach out again. He came back at a time when it was hard for her to stop thinking about him.
