Chapter 71
She was there. Her clothes tainted in blood. Her face, her hands... there were blood coming from her mouth. Not her blood. But the man that lay below her. She was clawing him. She looked angry. I couldn't believe my eyes. Now I know why they call her that. Malicious queen. There were people around her. They looked too scared to stop her. I saw her eyes. I couldn't help but gasp. They were blood red. Just like today. I remember her closing her eyes when she knew I saw. At first I thought it was my imagination. But now... now I know it was no imagination. It was real. I ran towards her. I saw her pack members standing there. They looked like they don't know what to do. That's when I realised it. She commanded them not to interfere. Everyone gasped when they saw me. I went straight towards my mate. She snarled at me as I came. It was almost like she didn't recognise me. No. Not almost. She really didn't recognise me. She tried to attack me. But I wrapped my arms around her waist in no time. She started struggling. Growling. I pulled her flush in my arms making another bunch of mummers erupt. "Sophia." I tried to calm her down. I didn't know what made her lose control. She struggled against me. She tried to claw me. But I caught her wrist every time she tried. I looked down at Alpha Benjamin. He was unconscious. But I knew he isn't dead. "Take him to the pack hospital!" I snarled at my pack members. 2 of them came and took him away. "Sophia. Calm down." I turned to my mate. She looked at me through her fierce red eyes. She growled. But didn't attack me. She growled again. But then I saw her feet move before she can kick my balls I turned her around and pulled her back flush against me much to her anger. I knew people were watching. But I could careless about that. Sophia snarled. "Sophia. It's me. Alexander." I whispered in her ears. Hoping it could stop her momentarily. She did. "let go!" she then said in a sharp voice that even gave me goosebumps. I pushed her against the wall. Her pack mates didn't stop me. But rather glared at me. "leave!" I snarled at everyone. They flinched, but left. Her pack too. I turned to my mate. "you are not Sophia, are you?" I asked. "no." she hissed. "I'm her wolf, Marigold."
"you don't recognise me?" I asked. "do I need to?" she snarled. "bring back Sophia." I ordered. "you don't scare me." Marigold said in her sharp voice. "bring Sophia." I said softly. If her wolf didn't recognise me, then that means she is blinded by anger. And I'm itching to know what made her so angry. I need to know she is ok. And I can't do that by asking a wolf out of control because she could attack me any second.
