Chapter 6 The Annihilation

Claws appeared from behind the backs of the Troy standing guard at the podium, instantly grasping the Troy. Not to injure them but to protect them. Everyone in the room was shocked as the claws appeared, even though no claws approached a single human. “Geez, the Claws! Are they going to hurt us?” Call shriek. “Not sure. But, they grab the Troy.” Red look suspicious. Call glanced at Red worriedly. “The Claws are going to toss the Troy at us?” “No, Call. It just ….” Red stopped. “There’s something fishy around here,” she continued. People muttered, they were confused. Who knows what kind of Savage Glory game Viz was referring to. But no one seemed suspicious or alarmed. Instead, they looked at each other and spoke in whispers. Unaware of the lurking danger. Red looked back, scanning the moving wall system, and suddenly sensed danger approaching. “Like what?” asked Call. “Put on my mask, Call,” Red stated abruptly. “What for?” Call seemed confused. “Just do it!” shouted Red. Viz put on a little smile. “Let us begin Savage Glory.” Viz's holographic visual arm rose, then vanished. The wall behind them began to gape as Viz’s figure on the podium disappeared. Apparently, it was a gate. The wind sucked in from the outside, and people have undoubtedly swept away and tossed into space. Red’s breathing became labored. She and Call held on to the iron railing that had been constructed earlier. “RED!!” Call tried to reach out the girl hands. Red knew Call could survive, and the oxygen was also still left enough for the next few minutes so that the young man could still breathe properly. But how many lives would be wasted and die in space? Due to the empty space pull, Red’s breath caught as she struggled to grip the railing. The scene of people being swept away and falling into the darkness of space was tragic and horrifying. Red’s grip on the railing slipped. She could hear Call’s desperate cry for help. “Ghníomhact!!!” shouted Red. Ursula grabbed Red’s thin body in a second, and Red’s eyes swiftly scanned Ursula’s chest until the robot’s chest opened up and put Red into her body. Red was able to breathe more easily, and her frantic thoughts disappeared in an instant. But Ursula was just floating in space, and Red had no idea how to give Ursula instructions so that she might assist the other people who had been swept out of the gate. More and more humans did not survive and resigned themselves to death. Red saw a holographic count throughout the hall; it wasn’t how long they had to survive but how many people remained. Viz just wanted a thousand fighters, Red realized. The AI would waste over nine thousand lives out of ten thousand humans. Red didn’t want it to happen; she needed to act to save everyone. At least the ones who are still alive. But what exactly? She couldn’t possibly save everyone, especially because Ursula was still motionless. The robot appeared to be intended to keep Red safe, not protect other humans. Red had no idea what to do; there had to be something that made the gate to the empty space close again. Red was pressured for time and didn’t have much of it. Red’s hand picked up the connecting cable with her eye. She took a deep breath, swallowed, and connected the wire to her left eye. Tiny needles dug into the skin around Red’s eye automatically. Pain jolted Red, and she felt blood trickle down her cheek. But Red didn’t care since she needed to save many people’s lives. “Please, Ursula. Help me!!” Red's gaze merged with Ursula's. Even when Red moved her fingers and arms, Ursula did the same. It was as if Red was Ursula and vice versa. Red flung Ursula's body towards the gate, snatching up the human bodies that flew out and tossing them into the iron bars. It could have been more efficient because there were too many people to save. Red was confused by the screams and howling cries of people begging for help to be saved. Their eyes were filled with death's terror. Red couldn't stop the emotional turmoil she felt suffering. She felt sad and powerless, yet she wanted to save countless lives. She tried to focus and calm down. Ursula's eyes scanned the gate area, and Red noticed two panels in red and green at the threshold, in addition to the system circuits. The bright green panel inside the wall surface. Ursula's body floated towards the wall-mounted panel. Both of Red's palms expanded, and she felt her body stung by pain. "Damn, I have to hold on!" Red almost lost consciousness. Joining Ursula made her body ache and drained her energy. She screamed, wanting to release the bluish-colored plasma shots she'd seen before. When the claws struck and broke into her house. The first time Red saw Ursula, she fired a shot. "Come on, Ursula! Attack, now!" Red gave the order. However, Ursula's palm was empty. Nothing happened as she stretched forward. Meanwhile, the humans were evaporating into space like massive sea waves. Red broke down in tears, feeling helpless to do anything. "Ursula! I beg you! Help me! "She cried desperately. Her left eye started hurting like hell, and a series of programs entered her brain without Red's permission. Ursula resynchronized with Red, which had not been perfect previously. The synchronization, however, may be fatal and render Red unconscious since too much information and energy cannot be received by Red's body in a short time. Red's eyes darkened, and she exclaimed softly, "Gabháil!" Ursula's palm made a whistling sound and began to glow blue. It formed a perfect ball of energy and shot toward the gate lintel's wall. The noise was loud, and it emitted a lot of explosive power. The flames were pulled into the void, and the people struggling to survive stared in awe at the explosion. The gate creaked loudly and slowly closed as Red's eyesight clouded. She was already exhausted and unconscious. The last thing she heard was the screams and howls of people who could not be saved.
