Chapter 15 A Family of Leeches

"F*ck! Wilbur, you're asking for a f*cking beating, aren't you?!" At that, Lucas grabbed the unopened bottle of red wine on the table, wanting to smash it on Wilbur's head. He was long used to bullying Wilbur, so he thought nothing of this brother-in-law of his. After the incident with the defects happened, Wilbur went straight to the company Lucas was working at, leading Lucas to be fired when he had just gotten promoted to manager. It became a major incident within the industry. Hence, the company Lucas worked for had him take the blame straight away. Lately, Lucas had been resenting Wilbur for it. A livid Wilbur got up from his seat and reached his head toward Lucas while saying coldly, "Go on, hit me! Let's see if you have the balls to do that!" Wilbur's reaction rendered Lucas stupefied. In reality, he dared not do what he had set out to. Similarly, the others were dumbstruck when Wilbur, who was usually submissive and wouldn't even dare frown when being yelled at, was acting like a completely different person now. After coming back to her senses, Jane hurriedly got up and stopped her brother. Then, she reprimanded Wilbur after making him sit down with unconcealed fury. "He's my only brother. Isn't it only right that we help him out? What are you fussing about? Are you mad?!" "Do you think you're something now, Wilbur?" Jane's mother, Mary, pointed at Wilbur as she snapped, "How dare you lash out in front of us? Do you even take us for anything?!" Wilbur couldn't believe it! Lucas had started it first. He was the one who wanted to smash the wine bottle on his head, but they were now all lashing out at him! After a couple of resigned chuckles, he looked coldly at Lucas and said, "Sure, I can lend you more. I'll lend it to you immediately after you return the half a million your sister gave you. I'll overlook the interests." "You're not going to let this go, are you, Wilbur?! I gave my brother that money with no intention of wanting it back in the first place." Wilbur hit the roof upon hearing that, and he shot up from his seat, booting his chair down. "That's the money my parents scrimped and saved up for. They weren't even willing to use it to treat their illnesses. If my father had spent it on hospitalizing himself, he wouldn't have left just like that. Lucas charged at Wilbur once again, seeing that his sister was being cussed at. However, Wilbur booted him to the floor with just one kick. Wilbur heeded the military call and took a two-year hiatus to join the army, returning after that to finish his education. Hence, he was a skilled fighter. What was more, he was brawny and tall. He could even deal with a group of hoodlums at one go, let alone someone like Lucas. He had only been suffering in silence since marrying Jane, giving Lucas the false impression that Wilbur was a loser he could bully as he pleased. Upon seeing Lucas on the ground, the Walschs charged at Wilbur, livid. At that, Wilbur roared, "I dare all of you to take another f*cking step!" Jane and Mary were actually petrified by Wilbur's roar, and they didn't dare to make another rash move. At that, Wilbur swept his cold gaze across the Walschs before landing on Jane. "I will not give him a single penny. It's not my problem how much you want to give him. Also, never bother me with your family's sh*t ever again. Do you want a divorce? Fine, I'll sign the papers if you give me back the five hundred thousand your brother owes. That's my f*cking money!" After that, he stormed out of the apartment. Lucas was still cussing after his family helped him up. Meanwhile, Jane and her mother were beyond livid as well. "Jane, hurry up and divorce that loser. The sooner, the better. I'm seriously pissed off," Mary ranted furiously. Naturally, Jane wanted to divorce Wilbur, but Jackson still wouldn't give her a straight answer. At that, she could do nothing but only get anxious. Outside, Wilbur's phone pinged after he rode out of the Walschs' apartment complex. With that, he pulled it out of his pocket to check, only to find a clip of Jackson and Jane making out in the night child care center, causing him to froth at the mouth.
