Chapter 2

Ariel's POV The pain increased with every breath that I took, I could barely walk straight and the whimpering in my head made thing worse as it won't stop. I grabbed my head and tried to shake off the feeling. ‘Winter, please stop.’ I begged my wolf. I didn't know how the name came to be but I felt an instant connection that assured me that it's her name but we both mourned the pain of our rejection as it ate us wholly. Consumed by the misery, I bumped into someone else and momentarily, I felt instantly relieved. “I'm sorry.” I apologize and made to leave. “Is everything okay?” The silkiest, most soothing voice I ever heard sounded. I paused, forgetting all of my pain. I turned around to look at the speaker and I was stunned by his beauty which shone brighter than the full moonlight. “You look beautiful.” I blurted and he chuckled, a sonorous tone to my ears. “Are you alright? You look hurt?” He asked, worriedly. I regained my senses and moved away from him as he attempted to help. I mustn't forget my goals, from his expensive and lavish dressing I could tell that he was a guest and for all I know, he could be one of the people who helped invade my pack. “I'm fine, thanks for your concern but you should get back to the party.” I rudely dismissed and turned on my heels before he could retort. Tears of joy mixed with misery and hurt as I barged into my room. I threw myself on my shady mattress and cried, partly because I'm finally free and mostly because horrifying pain consumed me. The door burst open and I felt a hand grab my hair, again… I yelped in pain but I was thrown against the wall though it hurt less than usual. “You fu*king slut, how dare you look down on my daughter!” Luna Pearl bellowed, kicking me in the abdomen. “You even dared to attract the attention of the men there, they kept on pestering me if I would sell you to them because you look beautiful, you stole the limelight and all the ladies thought I'm scorning them, how dare you!” Raveena ranted. “I'm sorry.” I cried out, apologizing. They just kept hitting me, I curled into a ball, sobbing and waiting for it to end. “Not even Bryan would save you from us now!” Raveena uttered, viciously. She banged my head against the concrete floor and kept scratching at me. I sobbed, the pain was intensifying and in a split second, I heard Winter speak. ‘Fight back!’ I ignored, knowing that everything would soon end. ‘Fight back Ariel, you're not a weakling!’ Winter growled. At that moment, I gained an inane amount of strength and realization dawned on me hat she's right. I'm no longer the fifteen years old they could bully anymore. As Luna Pearl made to kick me again, I grabbed her leg and flipped her over, causing her land face flat on the floor, Raveena was startled, I grabbed her hand and bit her deeply, ensuring that my fangs went in. They shrieked in pain and I rose up. “You little slut, how dare you touch us, you're done for!” Raveena yelled. I laughed maniacally. Yes! This was it, freedom. I didn't wait but dashed out of the room, I couldn't go back to the party so I needed to escape somehow. “You! Stop!” A guard yelled. I hastened my pace, it was now or never, Raveena had called the guards on me. I managed to successfully lose them but my movements became sluggish, I felt dizzy and struggled to walk straight. I could feel that I was losing conscious and out of breath. My head spun, Raveena's banging paid off, I felt myself freely falling but at the die minute, a strong pair of arms caught me. “Are you okay?” I heard, faintly. I nodded weakly and opened my mouth to speak, vaguely looking at the face of the one who carried me, then I blacked out. ‘She’s malnourished, stressed and weak, she needs to be properly taken care of.’ ‘When do you think she'll regain consciousness?’ ‘Very soon, she's fine but mostly dehydrated, she needs at least a month of bed rest and intense care.’ ‘Is there anything else I can do?’ ‘No, she's a really strong woman, her body is full of scars but I think they're weirdly healing themselves. Could be the drugs though.’ ‘Thank you Amelia.’ ‘Anytime, Alpha Trent.’ A high pitched noise resonated in my head and like a flash, everything came running through my head. I remember all that I had happened. With a soft groan, I opened my eyes as instantly sat up. I looked around saw the owner of the voices, a beautiful woman wearing a white lab coat and the handsome man I bumped into at the party. I stood up and began searching for my shoes. “Where are my shoes?” I asked. The woman chuckled and clicked her tongue.”You should still be in bed Wonder-Woman.” I found my shoes and wore them, I made to leave but the man blocked my path. “Where are you going?” He asked, curiously. “Thank you for saving my life but I've got to get back to the Jade Moon Pack, I left something very important behind.” I informed him. He looked at me like I was crazy. I pushed him away, gently and began to make my way out. My mom's Jade necklace was in my room. It's a remembrance of her and my identity as a royal in the pack, I must get it back. I limped as I got to the driveway and a car pulled over. The door was open and I saw the man motion for me to get in. “Get in, I'll give you a ride.” He offered. I had no options so I concurred. He drove in silence and I muttered a ‘thank you’ as I highlighted. It was nice to see that no one noticed my absence and I went straight to my room, I opened the door to see an horrific sight. Raveena and Luna Pearl had overturned all of my belongings and she held my Jade necklace in her hand. “Hand it over!” I yelled. She smirked then smashed it on the ground. “No!” I cried out and rushed towards it and as I gathered the shattered pieces, I barked at them. “You had no right touching this!” Raveena came up to me and kicked me, I stayed still, putting the pieces in the hem of my dress and tied it. Luna Pearl walked up to me and together, they began pummeling me to the ground, kicking, clawing, hitting and cursing me. I felt a blood trickled down my head and the dizziness returned. “What the hell do you think you're doing? A voice thundered and they halted. I heaved a breath of relief and crashed to the ground, the blood blurred my vision and I saw bleakly, someone walk up to me and carried me up. “You need to rest, let's go home.” He said to me and began to walk away. “Alpha Trent, you can't take her away!” Raveena protested. He paused and growled lowly. “One more word from you and I'll rip your tongue off.” He swore, I could feel her fear an he carried me away. “You saved me, again.” I breathed, weakly. “Hush, go to sleep little lamb.”
