Chapter 3 Full Moon, Feral Hearts
"You don't look okay. Why are you restless?" Jacobs asked the second they exited the restaurant.
"I don't want my boss to know about you. He may be back anytime." She said, still looking around.
"Let's talk in my car then." Jacobs insinuated and took her by the hand.
"Wow, that's the Rolls-Royce Droptail, is this yours!"
"It's nothing to be this excited about." He said while opening the door for her. He drove away about a mile before pulling over. "So, tell me why you don't want your boss knowing about me. What do you have with him?"
"Nothing really. Let's talk about this car instead. How did you manage to afford it and how can I afford one too? I feel like I am with royalty!"
"Okay, I insist on you telling me a little about him. As for the car, I am a heir to an elite tribe."
"What tribe? Are you into politics?" She tilted her head, brows furrowed, as he chuckled.
"This isn't about politics, Lucy. I am something more superior to humans."
"What do you mean?" She asked, refusing to accept the thoughts that he could be a werewolf as she hated them so much.
"You don't have a clue, do you? Well, I will explain further only if you tell me what you have to do with your boss." His voice vibrated cunningly.
Desperate to find out and unwilling to tell, Lucy stared out the window before revealing, "He likes me. He wants me to sleep with him. I am only about eighteen, plus I don't feel anything for him."
He gasped, "You don't have to let him molest you. If you don't feel anything for him. Tell it to his face."
"That will be a suicide mission. He could kill me." She voiced out her concerns.
"Then tell a member of your family. Someone capable of dealing with him." He suggested.
"Unfortunately, I have no one. I am all alone in this world."
"What do you mean? What about your parents?"
"My dad is dead. My mom hates me for it. She is married though and my stepfather is something else. I can't confront my boss." Lucy shook her head worriedly.
"Okay I guess I am going to take it upon myself to help."
"No, you don't have to. I will be fine. Trust me." Lucy turned him down immediately.
"Well, it appears you don't want me to help you but you want to help me. That is totally not acceptable."
"You just have to accept it. Now, tell me more about yourself." She said
"It will be best if I show you than tell you. I am taking you to my place." Jacobs started the engine immediately.
"No. Don't. Take me anywhere else but your place."
"But there is no better place in this city for now."
"Please use The Glamour Hotel. I command it!" Lucy sounded authoritative. He looked at her with a smile on his face. ...just the kind of woman I want... his thoughts whispered.
He arrived at The Glamour some minutes later and booked a room for the night.
"Jacobs, I won't be able to spend the night. I have to be back at the restaurant by 8:00 p.m."
"It's past 6:00 p.m. already. You can let your boss know something came up you can't avoid."
"You don't understand. I have to be the one to close for the day. Andrew will be looking for me and am the one to open up tomorrow morning." She whined but he would not listen.
"I understand. Trust me, a day of fun won't get you fired. You have to enjoy life and stop trying to just survive. After you." He opened the door wide, waiting for her to go in. Lucy was compelled to trust him in that very moment as she stared right into his deep brown eyes.
"I guess this is your way of manipulating Juanita to spend the night with you and you believe you own her." Lucy said on her way in.
"Not really."
"Then tell me."
"I have not spent a night with Juanita outside my crib. Besides, I know what she wants and in exchange, I own her for having them."
"Really? And what does she want?" Lucy asked, crossing her legs on a purple sofa. She was full of elegance and her majestic posture was enough to communicate boldness.
Jacobs looked at her for a while, then he said, "Money." He exhaled deeply, "What else can a woman desire from a man?"
"In my opinion, I would say, honor. I rather have an honest man by my side than a man who prides in his riches."
Pouring wine into two glasses, Jacobs commented, "I guess you are here to find out if I am an honest man or not?"
"I already see it in your eyes. You must be a man of honor, worthy of trust but what I am not sure is, if you will be able to own up to who you truly are or let circumstances define you."
"Impressive." Jacobs forced a smile before handing over a glass filled with red wine.
"I hope you can also impress me tonight by being a gentleman." She said watching him sit next to her.
"I am sorry, but I don't live my life trying to impress people." He spoke full of ego.
"Which is why I am here to change that." Lucy raised her glass and lightly clinked it against Jacobs'.
"I'd love to see you try." He mumbled upon gulping.
"Why did you drink up so fast?" Her brows knit together, one slightly higher than the other as if trying to catch a thought before it slipped away.
"We have a long night. Why?"
"Glad you know we have. Enough reason you should not drink too much."
"I need a dozen of this to get drunk, so c'mon! Here, have more so you don't remember anything." He said pouring more wine into her cup.
"Why don't you want me to remember?"
"This way you will love the way you feel and have only the memories of pleasure stuck in your head. Don't think, just drink." He said and after a while heeding his words, her eyes began to spin as they talked. The full moon casted a bright light through the window, triggering strange instincts in Lucy.
Jacobs pulled her into his arms and could not resist the charming beauty of her skin tone thar glowed underneath her clothes— everything felt so delicate and pleasurable as he rubbed his palm around her upper legs, aiming to pull off her dress.
"Jacobs. What are you doing? Jacobs, do whatever you want on the bed. Help me to the bed, I want to lie down." She murmured, struggling to stop him and as a blurry fantasy unfolded before her eyes.
