Chapter 26 The Search

Kael headed back to the cabin, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of the strange man he had encountered. Who was he, and where did he come from? Kael shrugged off the questions and continued towards the cabin, the fading light of day casting long shadows across the forest floor. As night fell quickly, Kael settled into a deep sleep, cuddled up with Farah. However, his rest was short lived. He woke up abruptly, his senses on high alert, detecting danger lurking nearby. The king's guards, he thought, his instincts screaming warning signals.
