Chapter 13 Marked

Night fell quickly, and Farah retired to bed, pretending to sleep. Kael had gone out and hadn't returned yet, but after a while, he came back, his eyes scanning the room to see Farah's sleeping form. He lay down on the floor, the sleeping clothes doing nothing to ease his discomfort. His eyes closed shut, and he seemed to relax, but Farah was watching him, waiting for the perfect moment to make her escape.
