Everything fell silent between them, the only sound that remained was their heavy breathing. Unknown to them, Aries stood on the roof of an abandoned house. He had witnessed everything, from the group of werewolves that jumped out of the window to the group that dashed into the woods in front of Keshton’s eyes. He silently watched everything unfold between Sibyl and Keshton. Sibyl stared at Keshton in disbelief and shook her head. “You have seen their faces and know that they are your people, yet you are protecting them.” She took a step back, recalling that she had been in Kaha’s place three months ago when she had been sold by her brother and Keshton had thrown her into the brothel. She might have ended up like Kaha, but she escaped that fate because Keshton had taken a liking to her.
