Chapter 13 Scarlett's Justification

Scarlett's POV: This silence is heavy, almost palpable, something that easily presses down on my being like physical weight. Sebastian understands me, understanding him admits that he indeed comprehends my pain, yet it, by all means, adds to the weight crushing under its guilt. I wanted him to suffer, feel stabbing hurt as sharply as that which had pierced my heart. I did get that done, but at what price? The victory was hollow; an ashen flavor mixed in my mouth.
