Chapter 35 Getting Even

I felt relaxed with Micaela cuddled up against my skin, and my hands brushed on the soft strands of her hair. This was something I would never get tired of doing. The fact that she was better and wasn't mad at me for leaving, still trusting me to touch her, was like a dream to me because I thought after everything she would want to put a distance between us. Then I would have to work hard to gain her trust again, but that was not the case. I stared off at the wall at the far end of the room where the window was, looking out at the dark cloud with the stars shining brighter than ever. I needed to tell her everything and how she was important to my king and me.
