Chapter 8

Jack's POV I lowered my eyes unwilling to believe what he had just sad as I was so sure he was my father. “But you are really my daddy, aren’t you afraid to miss me?” Tears I didn’t want to let form in my eyes were clustering. “Maybe I will go back to America with my mother this year and we will never come back.” My voice sounded so strange to my ears as they were sad. When I looked into his eyes, his eyes became sad like the words I had said had touched his heart, he was silent, silently staring at me and I quickly took this as an opportunity to not give up. Opening up my backpack, I took out a note and wrote down a row of numbers with my hand, after writing, I pulled out a few hairs from head even if it sting a little, then I carefully wrapped them in a sticky note and placed it on Mr. Celeb’s hand. I looked at him imploringly. “Mr. Celeb, that is my hair, and then my micro signal is on the paper, you must confirm it through a DNA test in order not to miss your son.” I informed him seriously and glanced down at the note in his hand. I watched him hold the sticky note tightly and the hair that I have stuffed into his hand, and his pair of cold eyes stared straight into my clear eyes and I exhaled softly and turned to leave, but my eyes stopped on Mr. Celeb’s untied shoelaces. I slowly squatted in front of him. “Mr. Celeb, you have to always tie your shoelaces if they are loose.” I glanced at him. “It is dangerous and my mother once ran and fell because she didn’t tie her shoelaces.” As I spoke, I felexibly tied his shoelace into a beautiful bow ad then looked up at him with a smile, Mr. Celeb looked at me with smile in his eyes, then his lips slowly parted. “Thank you.” His voice was deep and hoarse, and I could feel his heart warms up towards me. “You are welcome.” I nodded and got to my feet. “Goodbye, Mr. Celeb.” I said and ran out of the bathroom. Mr. Celeb quickly recovered from his daze and got to his feet. “What if he gets lost here?” A worried line spread through his brows. He hurried out of the bathroom quickly, but his assistant Jerry came by. “Mr. Celeb, what is the matter?” He asked seeing Celeb’s strange expression. Celeb eyes darted to the Jack who was almost disappearing into sight, his eyes lowered to his shoelace that was tied like a butterfly, then he glanced at the sticky note and hair left by Jack, reaching a decision, he reached out and pulled a few hairs from his head surprising Jerry. He placed the hair on his handkerchief and wrapped it, then took out the hair from the note paper and wrapped it again before handing it to Jerry. “Take it and carry out a DNA test on these.” His tone was calm without a wave. Although he didn’t think he would have anything to do with Jack, the sincerity in the little boy has really touched him and he saw a need to fulfill Jack’s wish so that it leave no regret as Jack had said earlier. Jerry glanced at Mr. Celeb who had just handed him the note and hair sample, he blinked in confusion and in thoughts he wondered. What is the situation? What does he wants to do with a DNA test? Jerry swallowed hard, and he was curious but dared not ask any more questions. “Okay, I will be right back with the result,” he informed and turned to leave, but stopped when he remembered something. “Mr. Celeb, Miss Kelly’s birthday is tonight and she has already invited you before, I was wondering if you would go?” He asked with the corner of his brows raised. Jerry has always had a strange feeling about Kelly and he knew Mr. Celeb doesn’t like her and won’t even want to cast a glance at her, but Jerry still pondered why Celeb still helped Kelly silently even when he clearly despise her. Jerry glanced at Celeb’s facial reaction and shook his head at the thoughts that cloud his mind, then he reminded himself that Kelly was Celeb’s nephew’s daughter-in-law, but whoever didn’t know would mistake him to be her secret lover. Celeb thought about it for a while and nods in response to his question. “Go on and just prepare a birthday gift for her.” His mind was still wrapped around on something else and Kelly’s birthday was the least, without waiting for a response from Jerry, he walked into the stadium and Jerry went ahead to do what he was told. *** Katherine’s POV Crown hill cemetery I met with Neil, my late father’s secretary and he took me to a tombstone halfway up the mountain and turned to me with sadness in his eyes. “Miss Katherine, this is the tomb where the president has been put to rest,” He turned to the tomb and drew a sharp breath. “Mrs. Rose’s mother and son found a good placed for the president in order not to be afraid of people spreading rumors.” He looked at me again. Looking at my father’s grave, I was hit by a wave of emotion and tears welled up in my eyes, I lowered to my kneels and hugged the tombstone of my father and suddenly I burst into tears, one that I had only cried when my father died. “Dad, Dad!” My lower lips trembled. It has been seven years already and all the memories of these seven years were generally played back in my brain. My father was a good man and didn’t deserve a death like this. I had first suffered being in a vegetable state, then I suffered from severe depression when I woke up and all these was because of a mother and daughter I once cherished and took as family. I bite my lower lips, my eyelashes flickered and I sniffled. Don’t they feel guilty about killing my father? I thought in my head as hate slowly spread little by little in my heart.
