Sweeping her gaze across the office area, Cordelia promptly returned to the secretary's office. Her movements were sharp and precise. With a brisk thud, she set her bag on the desk and settled into her chair. The desk was laden with an overflowing stack of documents from the Human Resources and Finance departments. Just as she extended her hand toward the topmost file, intending to skim through it, a faint yet unmistakable sense of something amiss struck her.
