Diego Navarro sat at his desk, the glow from the monitor reflecting off his sharp, calculating eyes. His lean frame tensed as he rewound the security footage for the third time, his fingers drumming impatiently against the polished wood. The office was silent except for the soft hum of the air conditioning, the only sound accompanying the rapid clicking of his mouse. He leaned forward, his brow furrowing as he watched the timestamp flicker past midnight. The camera’s grainy feed captured a lone figure moving down the dimly lit corridor of Montero Global’s restricted archive floor. Diego narrowed his eyes as the figure turned a corner, her face briefly illuminated by the overhead light.
