I stood transfixed to a spot as all their gazes flashed at me. My heart fluttered like a trapped dove in my ribcage and my lips parted slightly. I stood there, dazed, stupefied, deadened. How on earth did Ashley see the mark? Gosh! I knew I had forgotten about the mark completely when I decided to arrange my hair. It probably must have revealed my bare neck, exposing the mark to Ashley's curious eyes.
