Chapter 3 Does She Have A Wolf
Upon hearing this name, Hadley was utterly shocked.
Only the relatives of the old Alpha from the Bloodmoon Pack knew her name!
Could this man be a high-ranking werewolf from the Bloodmoon Pack?
No, she couldn't allow herself to be found by anyone from the Bloodmoon Pack!
Hadley immediately broke free from the man's grip and distanced herself from him.
Just as Hadley was about to make her escape, the whumping sound of a helicopter grew from a distant hum to a near thunder. It was the man's reinforcements arriving.
She glanced at the helicopter hovering above her head.
The cabin door swung open before a ladder was dropped down, and men descended from above. Immediately, she turned and ran.
Caspian propped himself up, watching the figure gradually fade into the distance. A joyful smile played at the corners of his mouth. “So this is where you've been hiding. I'll come back for you...”
At a certain rundown wooden house at the foot of the mountain.
Two black BMWs were parked in front of the house, while the yard was filled with werewolves who had gathered to watch the spectacle.
In the living room, the elderly Sylvie was hosting guests from the city. They were members of the Brimstone Pack: the Alpha, Jasper, his Luna, Lysandra, and their adopted daughter, Selene, who was originally from the Yorke family.
The trio was dressed in extravagant attire, which stood in stark contrast to the dilapidated wooden hut overflowing with various types of herbs.
Selene cast a glance at the grimy, worn-out teacup in front of her, feeling a strong sense of disgust deep within.
After taking another look around the living room, the peeling, mottled walls and the haphazardly strewn herbs on the floor caught her eye. To make matters worse, it was the height of summer, yet there wasn't even an air conditioner in the room. The only source of relief was a rickety ceiling fan overhead, squeaking and creaking as it spun. This only added to her growing disdain and resistance.
How could she possibly be the daughter of such a destitute werewolf?
This shabby pack couldn't even produce an Alpha!
She was the daughter of the Brimstone Pack's Alpha! No one could strip her of that identity!
“Dad, why hasn't Hadley arrived yet? Does she not want to see me? Does she think I stole her parents?” Selene, with a look of grievance, said while clinging to Jasper's arm.
This was her facade. She had always known what her parents favored about her, and what kind of words would work in her favor.
“What are you babbling about? This wasn't your fault, so how could she blame you!” Jasper said sharply.
Before he arrived, he had already formed a plan in mind. He planned to establish his dominance as an Alpha in front of Hadley, with the aim of controlling her more effectively.
They would bring Hadley back to the Brimstone Pack, but they wouldn't abandon Selene either.
After all, Selene still had other uses. The seventeen years spent raising her couldn't have been for nothing.
Upon hearing her father's words, Selene's expression became even more aggrieved. “Then why would she make everyone wait so long...”
She then turned to Sylvie. “Hey! Could you go and find Hadley to tell her to hurry up?”
She hadn't used any form of address, and even though the sentence was structured as a question, it was delivered with the authoritative tone of someone giving orders to a servant.
Sylvie had been observing Selene's impolite actions all along. At this moment, she let out a soft sigh.
She was just about to stand up when Lysandra spoke up to stop her.
“No need to look for her. If she doesn't return in five minutes, we'll leave without her,” Lysandra said, feigning indifference.
Although Lysandra didn't understand why her mate insisted on bringing their daughter home even after learning she was the cursed white wolf, she knew he wasn't doing this out of paternal love despite what he portrayed to the world.
As a mother, she possessed an instinctive urge to protect her daughter.
She hoped that by adopting this approach, by showing she didn't like Hadley, she could divert the attention of the Brimstone Pack wolves away from Hadley.
The less attention was on Hadley, the safer she was!
Upon hearing this, Jasper shot Lysandra a glare. He had gone through much effort to find the white wolf, so he couldn't afford to make this trip for nothing.
He was just about to say something when suddenly, a voice called out from outside the house.
“Granny, I'm back.”
Upon hearing the sound, everyone turned to look. They saw a tall and slender young woman, standing against the light at the doorway.
Though she appeared youthful and innocent, she exuded an aura of authority that demanded respect, as if she were born a ruler.
Jasper paused, sensing a pressure coming from Hadley. It was the hierarchical pressure that happened among high-level werewolves, and it was very apparent. He watched Hadley nervously.
Could it be that Hadley already had an inner wolf?
She's supposed to be flawed, so how could she possibly have a wolf? She should have to live her entire life without having her own wolf!
