Chapter 12 Give Me Two Million
Ignoring Reggie's glare, Sherman approached Ivana directly.
Reggie's expression turned colder, but he refrained from making a scene.
He had always maintained the image of a polished and refined gentleman in public, a strategy that had been highly effective in charming women.
However, internally, he was already devising ways to deal with Sherman later.
Meanwhile, other male students poured into the dance studio, further irritating Reggie.
With the flood of onlookers, there was no way for him to maintain control over the situation.
Sherman reached Ivana, whose tall and slender figure made her stand out effortlessly.
Her long, straight legs and graceful presence drew every eye in the room, making her the undeniable center of attention wherever she went.
"Hello, are you Ivana?" Sherman asked politely.
Ivana, who had been chatting with a friend, turned to face him. Seeing his clear eyes and easy demeanor, she paused briefly before offering a polite smile.
"Yes, that's me. How can I help you?"
She felt a bit confused. Normally, no males other than Reggie frequented the dance studio. However, it was unusually crowded today.
Before Sherman could answer, Ivana's friend grinned mischievously. "What else? He's probably here to ask for your contact or confess his love directly."
As Ivana was the undeniable star of the room, their exchange quickly drew everyone's attention.
Sherman remained composed and said, "This isn't the best place to talk. Could we go somewhere quieter to chat?"
The importance of the Medicine King Bead made him unwilling to discuss it in a public setting.
"Sorry, I have a class coming up and can't spare the time. If you have something to say, just say it here," Ivana replied.
Having grown up constantly pursued by admirers, she naturally assumed Sherman was just another suitor.
She had seen countless variations of this approach before.
Next to Ivana, her friend teased, "Ivana is really hard to pursue. She's got high standards. Why don't you try pursuing me instead? I'm much easier to woo."
Sherman chuckled and shook his head. "You've got it all wrong. I'm not here to pursue her. I really have something urgent to discuss."
Ivana maintained her polite smile.
Ivana was known for her good manners and gentle personality, rarely showing anger.
She always politely declined her suitors without speaking ill of anyone, which earned her a good reputation at school.
Many girls admired her, and few were truly jealous.
At this moment, Reggie approached Sherman and said, "Bro, Ivana has already declined. Please don't make things difficult for her. Kindly leave."
Sherman glanced at the crowd of students, thought for a moment, and then nodded to Ivana. "Alright, see you next time."
It was not the right time to have a conversation anyway, and now that he knew who Ivana was, he felt there would be plenty of opportunities in the future.
Turning on his heel, he exited the dance studio.
Reggie, seizing the moment, looked at Ivana with deep affection. "Ivana, I've booked a table at a fancy restaurant. The steak there is fantastic. Why don't we have dinner together after class?"
Ivana shook her head and replied, "I'm sorry, I have something to do today. And Reggie, you don't need to spend so much energy on me. We're not suited for each other."
Reggie's expression remained calm. "Ivana, from the moment I first saw you, I vowed to marry no one else. Whether it takes one month, one year, ten years, or twenty, I'll always wait for you."
His declaration drew sighs and admiration from the girls around them.
"Wow, Reggie is so romantic!"
"He's handsome and rich. If I were her, I'd have agreed ages ago."
"I'd stay single for ten years just for a boyfriend as amazing as him."
...
Ivana, unfazed, simply said, "Reggie, I need to get to class. Goodbye."
With that, she left with her best friend.
Reggie escorted her to the door with impeccable manners, maintaining his gentlemanly image.
However, as soon as Ivana disappeared from sight, his face darkened.
Just then, Tobias and his group hobbled over, still recovering from the pain Sherman had inflicted.
Slap!
Reggie struck Tobias across the face. His voice was icy. "Useless. You couldn't even handle something as small as that. Who was that guy?"
Tobias covered his cheek, feeling wronged. "That guy is no ordinary person. He's really strong. When we attacked together, none of us could touch him. I suspect he might be a martial artist, possibly a Level 1 martial artist!"
"A Level 1 martial artist? That explains his arrogance," Reggie said, his expression grim. "Did you find out anything about him?"
"I did. His name is Sherman Leif, a new enrollee today. He doesn't seem to have much of a background. I've already sent a few guys to follow him," Tobias reported.
Reggie said nothing in response. Instead, he picked up his phone and made a call.
The line was answered almost instantly, and a deep, gravelly voice came through.
"Hey, Reggie, what's the matter?"
"Mr. Turner, I need your help dealing with someone. A little troublemaker dared to cross me. I want you to break his limbs and toss him into the trash pit."
"Got it. Send me his identity and location."
"Thanks, Mr. Turner. I'll treat you to a big feast when this is over."
"Haha, I don't care about the feast, but make sure to bring some of your pretty classmates to keep me entertained."
"Consider it done."
After hanging up, Tobias could not help but ask cautiously, "Reggie, was that the famous One-eyed Wolf on the phone just now?"
"Yes," Reggie replied coolly. "Mr. Turner's nickname is indeed One-eyed Wolf."
Tobias's excitement was palpable. "One-eyed Wolf! He's one of the top martial artists in Riverton—a peak Level 2 martial artist. With him involved, that kid is as good as done!"
Reggie kicked Tobias sharply and snapped, "Quit running your mouth. Go track that kid now. Make sure you see it with your own eyes when his limbs are broken, and he's thrown into the garbage pit. Don't forget to take a photo as proof."
"Understood. I'll handle it immediately."
Tobias hurried off with a group of his lackeys.
Ding!
A notification popped up on Reggie's phone.
He opened the message, and a delighted smirk spread across his face.
It was from a close friend of Ivana's.
Reggie had been trying to bribe this person for some time, offering money to help him gain an advantage over Ivana.
Previously, she had refused to get involved, but now she was sending him an unexpected message.
The content was simple yet thrilling:
"Give me two million, and I'll take Ivana out for dinner tonight and slip something into her food!"
