Chapter 55 Unwelcome Visitor

Sophia I woke up to the gentle warmth of the morning sun streaming through the curtains. I blinked a few times, my eyes adjusting to the light before I turned to find Christian beside me, his arm wrapped protectively around my waist. His chest rose and fell with each calm breath, while his face was relaxed and peaceful. For a moment, I allowed myself to simply watch him. In sleep, he looked so different from the sharp, calculating man I had come to know. His guard was down, and I couldn’t help but admire the way his lashes cast shadows over his cheekbones.
