They stopped at Cara’s dormitory to pick her up. Hana’s sister was all smiles and less talk as she moved to the front to sit with the driver. They continued their journey to the house. When they reached, Alex and Cara helped with the bags and some of the gifts. Kyle didn’t let her carry any, and she didn’t bother to argue with him. As soon as they opened the front door, a Christmas song flooded their ears. Hana took her sister and husband’s hand. She was with two of her favourite people in the world and was about to be joined by more of her favourites. Christmas decorations hung from the door and the walls. The aroma of something tantalising made her let go of both hands and followed the smell to the kitchen.
