Calvin’s heart skipped. He almost dropped his wife’s hand but recovered quickly. To be fair, she was looking better than she did when he dropped her at his parents in the morning. But he didn’t want to pressure her into speaking about something she wasn’t ready for. Today had been a shitshow with the appointment of Mr Anderson as the new co-CEO with KJ. He couldn’t even be at the meeting due to his schedule, so he had followed the whole process via zoom. “Are you sure?” he asked, passing her a side glance. She popped some popcorn and peanut into her mouth and nodded. That combination wasn’t one he would have considered, but his wife looked happy to have it. “When we get home then, yeah?”
