Rome stood outside his mother's hospital room, his mind in turmoil. The shock of the day's events had left him in a daze, and he had completely forgotten that he had left Jess alone in the car. He was jolted back to reality when he saw Camilla rushing down the corridor towards the ward. He moved quickly to intercept her before she could enter the room.
