Bryan was riding back home from work at about 10 p.m., having decided not to take any more passengers, when his eye caught a girl running out of a club and waving at him to stop. He drove past at speed but slowed down when he saw her being maltreated by a muscular guy. The guy clasped her arm, forcing her back into the club while she resisted. Bryan quickly halted and came out of his car, rushing to meet her. "Hey... let me go. I told you I'm not interested, please," she pleaded with the guy who clasped her arm, a grin on his face. "You just have to be interested. No lady has ever rejected me before. I want you tonight, and you have to submit to me," the guy said and licked his lips before Bryan came interrupting. "Hey... what's happening here?" Bryan cut in. "And who are you to come out here?" the guy asked in surprise but smiled when he saw Bryan's car parked. "So you later stopped, huh? Well, nice try, but I will advise you to get out of here now!" "No, I won't. Not until you let her go," Bryan said and stared at the beautiful girl who looked so innocent. "Haha, who the hell do you think you are? Get out of here now!" the guy ordered Bryan angrily. "Sir, don't leave me here, please. I will do anything you ask of me," the pretty lady said to Bryan as the guy tried to drag her into the club, while his boys stood laughing at the way she howled in fear. Bryan wasn't threatened by him and acted immediately. "I said leave her alone," Bryan angrily punched the guy on the lips, and he started to bleed. Then the guy's guards grabbed Bryan and the lady, restricting them from going. Bryan could see the rage on the face of the guy he punched and was definitely questioning what he had gotten himself into. "You wanna be a hero, huh? Let's see how it goes," the guys all began punching Bryan hard in the stomach while they made the lady watch him. She couldn't handle the way they hit him and began crying. "Please let him go, I'm begging you. This is between me and you," she pleaded with tears rolling down her cheeks. Suddenly, strength came to Bryan. He hit the nose of the guy holding him and punched the other in the face. Another one tried to attack, but Bryan kicked him in the groin, and he slumped to the ground. "Get him! Don't let him get away," the muscular guy said as Bryan grabbed the lady's arm, and they both ran into the car. He zoomed off. *** "Thank you so much. I'm really sorry for this. You are bleeding; should we go to the hospital? I promise to pay the bills," she asked worriedly. "Nah, don't worry. I've gotten punched so many times that this isn't new," he said, remembering his struggles in the Jing family. Bryan replied, still driving. He looked at his mirror just to get a glimpse of her, and his eyes met hers. Damn, she was so beautiful with tempting eyes and seductive lips. No wonder the guy wouldn't let her be; she was just like an angel in human form, so irresistible. "So where am I taking you? I can drive you directly to your house if you want," he asked her. "Oh, no. I don't..." "You don't have the money to pay? Well, don't worry. I won't charge you. I'm just gonna do it for free," he said, not allowing her to finish, which made her smile. "Because I stay at Wembley's estate," she replied, and he almost lost concentration. "What? You stay where? Hahaha, you gotta be kidding me." He laughed in surprise. Wembley estate is the biggest in town, and only elites can stay there. Even the Jing family, as wealthy as they were, couldn't afford the place for a year. And here was a lady he found in a city's local club saying she stayed there. "I know you won't believe me, but please drop me off there. I can't afford to miss it," she said while he was still laughing but nodded his head in agreement to try her. "No problem," he agreed and kept driving. He never wanted to argue with a lady but didn't believe her. As they approached the estate, suddenly, flashlights were pointed at the car, and armed men came out of nowhere, pointing guns at them. "Who the hell are you? Surrender!" the security yelled. "OMG, I think we are in trouble. We better get out of here now," he tried to turn the steering, but she stopped him. "No, wait, those are my guards. They are just concerned that I sneaked out of the house." "Your guards? Who the hell are you?" he asked in fear as the armed men approached them. "I'm Wuyan, the daughter of Mr. Warren—CEO of Austelin Company," she calmly said to him, and he burst into laughter. "What? Hahaha, nice try, but I don't think we should play this game here, or we will be arrested..." Bryan replied to her in tension and ignited the car to leave, but he was too late. The guards already surrounded them. "Surrender and get out of the car now! Do not let me repeat myself!" the security leader said, pointing a gun at the car and fuming angrily. "OMG, we are dead..." Bryan groaned, unrelaxed as his heart began pounding. It was a criminal offense for commoners to approach the estate at that time of night, and he could get jailed for it. The lady saw how bothered he was and had to calm him down. "Relax, okay, I got this..." She touched him softly and then stepped out of the car. Bryan watched to see what she was gonna do when she commanded the securities, and they obeyed. "Drop your guns," she commanded, and Bryan was left in awe when the guards did it without hesitation. "Oh, Miss Wuyan, we are sorry. We didn't know you were the one," the senior security leader said as they all wore surprised faces. "I am the one, so be calm," Wuyan calmed the guards down and came back to Bryan, whose mouth was open in shock and couldn't utter anything. She checked for his information on the dashboard and copied it into her phone before walking into the estate, escorted by the guards (after giving him a sweet smile). Bryan was numb. He couldn't believe he had just picked up the famous Wuyan that everyone had been talking about. Immediately, he drove back home. He couldn't wait to tell James and Mark. *** "You dropped a girl off at Wembley estate? Like... for real? Nah, bro, you gotta be kidding me. No one from Wembley estate would board a cab; they are too big for that," Mark said to Bryan as he picked up the TV remote to see the evening show. "So you guys don't believe me?" Bryan, who had been trying to explain to the guys, asked in frustration. They refused to believe him even after he crossed his heart. "No, Bryan, we don't. It's so impossible, you know. And even if it were true, what was the reason?" James asked, and Mark followed immediately. "Are you sure of what you are talking about?" Mark asked. "Yes, bro, you gotta believe me. And this girl was no other than Wuyan!" "What, come again... what Wuyan are you talking about?" They stared at him with their eyes open in surprise. "Wuyan of Austelin Company, of course." Bryan got up and walked to the room to sleep, leaving them in the sitting room. He knew they wouldn't believe him. In fact, no one would. Even he couldn't tell if what he saw was real. "But what would have brought her to a local club in town, looking so ordinary? Why was her face exposed? Why wasn't it disfigured as people were saying?" he asked himself and fell on the bed in confusion, trying to solve the puzzle in his head. When his phone bleeped, he quickly checked it to see the sum of $100,000 sent to him with a message reading... "Thanks for the ride. From Wuyan." He couldn't believe his eyes. Did she just pay for his services with a huge amount of money despite him telling her not to bother? She might have gotten his account details from his car dashboard. Bryan slept with a different heart that night. He couldn't explain if he was happy or shocked. What would his friends say when he showed them the message and the huge amount of money?
