Chapter 73 Breakfast In Bed

In a swift reflex motion, Karen's eyes peeled open and she jerked her body upright from the floor, where she had been lying on the tangled duvet. A lazy yawn escaped her lips as she raised her hands to massage her temples, hoping to alleviate the throbbing migraine and the body aches of sleeping on the hard, cold floor for many nights. As she did so, her bleary gaze flicked lazily towards the table clock and her eyes widened in shock as she took in the time. Immediately, the pain she felt all over her body was momentarily forgotten to be replaced by a creeping sense of dread.
