Maria had fallen asleep in the parlor after being on the phone with Alejandro for close to thirty minutes talking about what was going on in Saviano's estate and how the preparation for the hunt game was going. She nearly fell from the couch when she heard a loud bang followed by the sound of what seemed to be a gunshot. She sat up instantly, her eyes widened as she scanned the living room, wondering if she had been dreaming.
