Chapter 11 Watching And Waiting

These last few days have been hell for me. I was sure that Kosta would have at least tried to talk to me and try to work things out between us. This is the first time we have slept apart since we mated. It doesn’t seem to phase him at all. On the other hand, I cried myself to sleep that first night. I left the connection between me and Kosta open so that he could feel all of my pain. After a while, he blocked me rather than comforting me. I felt so hurt and alone. This was the beginning of me accepting that it is really over between us and there is nothing I can do to fix this. If my mate feeling me in pain could not break through, I don’t think anything will. A true mate should not be able to feel that amount of pain from their mate and not respond to it. The fact that he could and did speaks volumes. I realized that it was pointless for me to keep a connection that was unwanted on the other end, so I kept my block up. I have been sitting back these last few days watching Khalis acting like she is my replacement. She has been trying to order the Omegas and other pack members around. I have been able to quietly see who is loyal to me and pick out her followers. She has been threatening the pack members who have remained loyal to me; telling them that it is only a matter of time before she is the Luna of the pack and she will make them regret it. I have been secretly reassuring them that I will protect them and take them with me when I leave. They know my family is much more powerful than Khalis or even Kosta will ever be. Neither of them can touch anyone I have sworn to protect. I have sent the names of the people loyal to me to my brother. The sad thing is Kosta is sitting back and allowing it to happen. He is destroying his pack from the inside. Several of his ranked members and elite warriors have threatened to leave the pack if Khalis becomes the luna. Maybe he wants her more than he wants the pack. I can’t even begin to figure out what is going on in Kosta’s head.
