She drummed her fingers softly on the mahogany table and cleared her throat before speaking, "I wasn't able to thank you for what you did back there, it could've gotten worse..." She let the rest of her words trail off and bit her lip hesitantly as she waited for his reply. She watched as his gaze flickered to her mouth and darkened instantly.
