He pulled Tammi to her feet and looked at her impatiently. Her eyes were smudged from a mix of the oral assault and crying, as he handed her back the baseball cap she'd worn coming in. As they walked from Matt's room, she glanced back at him as a single tear slowly trickled down his face. Her heart sank to a new low. As they walked down the corridor from the room, a nurse walked towards them. She had seen them walk out of the room and they looked completely out of place as to the kind of people that would be visiting Matt. She hurried into his room and noted the wet residue on his face and bedding. She gently wiped it away with a tissue recognising the new smell that was out of place in the sterile hospital room.
