Feeling a bump on her shoulder, Cassandra jerked her head to see Raj moving past her with her luggage. "Oh, my apologies," he said. "Please take a seat over on the couch while I get your things into your room. Then I'll get some Chai for you and we can get better acquainted with each other." Cassandra just nodded and plopped her tense and tired self down on the dusty-looking brown couch. As she sank back against the cushions, Cassandra exhaled heavily. Her mind was still trying to catch up with the situation she found herself in. Here she was, far from home and living with an unpleasant-looking old man. She debated whether to just back out now before she got herself even deeper into this. But it was almost sundown, Cassandra had absolutely nowhere else to go, and she certainly didn't want to spend the night in the streets of a foreign city. Everything was already pretty sketchy as it was; she simply couldn't afford to make things worse for herself.
