Chapter 12

Mark did not buy food that day. The farmers had shied away from the markets due to the previous day’s storm which destroyed fresh produce. Besides the roads were in a bad shape, it was impossible for even a highly experienced driver to pass through. Most people stayed indoors and avoided unnecessary movement. Ana was hungry and it happened that the food they had stocked was already finished. When she asked Mark on what to do, he told her to go look for food herself. The house was surrounded by different kinds of fruits. She decided to go pick some without asking for Mark’s permission.
