Chapter 8 Grandma's Last Designed Dress

Mishka spent the day in her room, scrolling through her phone, and doing something she loves the most, but she was sorry about not being able to fulfil her Dadu’s wish and she couldn’t stop thinking about it. Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind and she stormed out of her room, sprinting to the kitchen. Asking for all the ingredients from the house helpers, Mishka made a sugar-free vanilla cake for Leo, precisely how he loves it with the icing of dry fruits. All the helpers were in awe, staring at the cake as she placed it inside the refrigerator and left for her room. It was six in the evening when her mobile buzzed in her pocket. She took the phone out and looked at Leo’s message while climbing the stairs. Dadu: I have called some stylists for you. They will show up shortly to prepare you for the party. Me: Dadu, there was no need for you to do so much for me. I would have prepared myself. It’s your birthday and you are pampering me. Dadu: I know you can prepare yourself, but still wanted to do it for you. Me: Okay, Dadu (smile emoticons) Mishka closed the door of her room and moved to take a shower. She came out wearing a robe and started to blow dry her hair when her eyes landed on the shopping bags lying down on the bed. She turned and went towards her bed to open them. Inside the shopping bags, there was an absolutely stunning blue evening gown. Mishka was about to open another shopping bag when a knock on the door stopped her. She opened the door and, as expected, three stylists entered inside, closing the door behind them. The dress designer asked Mishka to change into the gown so that they can start doing miracles on her face and hair. Mishka nodded her head, picked up the dress, and went inside the bathroom to change. She came out wearing the dress but was a little disappointed. “Hey, I think the gown is loose on my waistline,” She said, looking at the designer, pointing at the sides of her waist. The designer smiled. “That’s why I am here to help. Let me take your measurements and this dress will be ready for you in the next fifteen minutes. Meanwhile, she will do your makeup,” The Designer said, pointing towards the makeup artist. Mishka nodded her head with a smile. “Okay then, let’s get started.” *** When Christian arrived home, he found the house empty as everyone left for the party, including the servants. Christian was passing over the living area when he heard footsteps behind him. He turned and watched Pasha getting in through the main door. “I thought everybody left for the party. Why are you here?” Christian asked, knitting his eyebrows. “Yeah, everyone is at the party except Mishka. I came to take her.” Pasha responded. “Oh, she is still here?” Christian asked, and Pasha nodded, looking at his phone, and next settled on the lounge. “What happened?” Christian asked. “Mishka said she needs twenty minutes more,” Pasha replied, and an idea popped inside Christian’s head. “Pasha, why don’t you go back and I’ll bring her to the party? I too need time to get ready and it will take around twenty-thirty minutes. Why waste your time here? Go back and enjoy the party.” Christian proposed and Pasha looked at him like he has grown two horns on his head. “Really?” Pasha asked, widening his eyes. “Yeah, why not?.” Christian said. “Okay, just let me ask your grandpa if he is okay with this arrangement,” Pasha said, taking out his phone from his coat. Christian rolled his eyes and mentally said, “Like really, they wanted me to marry her, and right now, they are not ready to leave us alone. What am I? A kidnapped who will kidnap their princess?” “Okay, your grandpa said that you can bring her. Let me just inform Mishka too,” Pasha said and started writing a message. Christian smiled. “See you at the party.” He added and started striding upstairs to get ready. *** Christian wore a royal blue suit with a white shirt underneath and spiked his hair with a gel. He slipped on his shoes and was all set for the party. He stepped out of his room, looking at himself in the mirror for the last time, and strode to the guest room where Mishka was staying. He knocked at her door and the door opened. Three women walked out one by one, passing him a smile and he saw them stepping down the stairs and sighed. Christian entered inside, and he saw Mishka looking in the mirror. Her bareback was facing him and Christian cleared his throat to make her aware of his presence, and when she turned to see him, his breath nearly stopped for a second. Mishka was looking undeniably stunning in the blue gown, and Christian couldn’t look away from her. Staring at her from top to bottom, he was awestruck, and something clicked in his mind. “Wait, that’s grandma’s last designed gown.” He inwardly said. ~ MISHKA ~ “How much more time it will take?” I asked my makeup stylist. “Only a little touch-up is left, by the way, you don’t need it. You are already so beautiful. Indian girls are definitely hot.” The makeup artist winked at me, looking in the mirror. “Thank you so much!” I acknowledged her for the compliment and a few minutes later, my phone buzzed at the dresser and it was a text from Pasha. Pasha: I am waiting for you downstairs. Me: I am sorry, but I need twenty minutes more. Pasha: No worries, I am waiting for you in the living room. Me: Okay, I am trying to wrap it up as soon as possible. I put my phone on the dresser but minutes later, I received a text from him again that said he was leaving and Chris will accompany me. I gulped hard, staring at his text. “Okay, no problem, but I made a cake for Dadu. Would you please take it with you? It’s in the refrigerator.” I asked. “Sure, with a smiley.” Pasha texted back. Twenty-five minutes later, I heard a knock on my door. I was done with my dress, makeup, and hair, so one of the stylists opened the door while I was applying lipstick, looking in the mirror. They started walking out, and I heard someone clearing their throat. I turned and witnessed Christian’s shocked face. He was staring at me while I gradually started strolling towards him, but he was in his own world. When I reached closer, I waved my hand in front of his face, and he came back to this world. “This is the second time you zoned out. What happened? Am I not looking good?” I asked looking down at my dress. “You are looking gorgeous.” He complimented, looking into my eyes and I know I blushed. “Let’s go, else we will be late.” He further added. “Yup. Just give me a second.” I said, quickly turning to my left to pick the gift-wrapped painting for Dadu. I held it up in my hand, but stumbled, taking the next step because of the long gown and heels. Luckily, Christian held my forearm, and I composed myself. “Hand this to me. It would be enough if you just manage yourself.” He smirked and turned, walked down the stairs and I followed him, holding my gown a little high. *** Once got settled inside the car, Christian started the engine, and soon they were on the highway. Mishka was watching outside the window, looking at the tall buildings while humming a song. “So how did you meet grandpa?” Christian asked, his eyes pinned at the road. “I met him at the river Ganga Ghat.” Mishka turned to Christian and answered. “Oh, okay and......” Christian was about to shoot another question when his phone buzzed on the back seat of the car. “Hey, can you please see who is it?” Christian asked Mishka, and she nodded, picking up the phone from the back seat. “It's Danny,” She said, looking at the screen. “Receive or Reject?” “Receive and put it on speaker,” Christian said, still focusing on the road, and Mishka nodded, receiving it. Danny: Hey buddy, where are you? I am already at the party. Christian: Hey, I am just twenty minutes away. Danny: Come soon, there are so many hot chicks in here. Danny said excitedly and Christian glanced at Mishka who was busy on her own phone as if she did not hear what he just said. Christian: Okay, I am coming. Bye! Danny: By the way, where is that Indian Bitch you were talking about? I don’t see her anywhere. Christian swallowed hard and looked at Mishka again, hoping she might not have heard like before, but no, she was glaring at him and he looked back at his phone. Christian: Danny, shut your mouth!! Don’t say that. Danny: And why? Aren’t you the one roaming around calling her that? So what’s wrong now? Christian glanced at her again and found Mishka still glaring at him. “Will you just keep your mouth shut? I am driving. Bye.” He growled. Danny: Yeah, whatever! Bye. Danny disconnected the call and Mishka flipped the phone on the back seat. She started watching outside without a word, and Christian realized that the next twenty minutes drive is ruined.
