Chapter 1 Kicked Out
Chloe Taylor's POV:
I turned 18 tonight—the night I was supposed to come into my powers. But my wolf hadn't shown up yet.
An alpha heir without a wolf?
What a complete disaster.
I was slumped on the couch, buzzed and miserable, when my phone suddenly lit up.
"Chloe! Come quickly to the private room on the second floor of the yacht! I've got something huge planned for you!"
It was Shania Simon. She was a beta with a gentle heart—the only girl who still treated me like a friend.
Her excited tone made me curious, and I rushed off right away, hoping that her surprise would cheer me up.
"Shania? Are you in there?" I called from outside the private room she had mentioned. The hallway was pitch dark, with no lights at all.
I knocked again and again, but got nothing back.
Then I heard it. A low, eerie howl echoed nearby. It sent shivers down my spine. Just as I turned to leave—
"Ah!" The door swung open. Before I could react, a strong arm grabbed me and yanked me inside!
The door slammed shut behind us.
"Who are you? What are you doing?!" I yelled, panicked. I struggled, but the alcohol dulled my strength. I managed to sink my teeth into his shoulder.
He kept his grip firm around my waist, refusing to let go. Without saying a word, he lifted me suddenly and hurled me onto the bed in one swift motion.
"It hurts!" I cried out as he forced himself inside me. I couldn't help but arch my back and scream in pain.
I didn't expect it to hurt so much the first time. It was so big that it felt like he was stretching my insides out violently.
I barely had time to wonder if this was the so-called "surprise" Shania had mentioned before he shifted again, causing my legs to instinctively wrap around him.
"Hiss ... " He bit my right nipple and repeatedly teased it with his mouth, leaving my back arching. I couldn't help but moan, overwhelmed by the intensity.
His large palm repeatedly kneaded and played with my other breast. In the dark, he buried his head in my chest, biting and sucking me. The rhythm of his movements sent waves of sensation through me, leaving me breathless.
As he continued, I drifted off due to exhaustion before I could even catch a glimpse of his face.
When I woke up, he was gone.
I grabbed my phone to call Shania to demand some answers when the door suddenly flung open.
A crowd of people rushed in—men and women.
As the room lit up, my eyes instantly latched onto two familiar faces: Shania, my closest friend, and Cassandra Taylor, my stepsister.
"The man who just left is a witch's descendant!"
"Seriously, Chloe? You slept with someone we're all supposed to hate? A witch's bloodline?"
They stood together, arms linked, their eyes exaggeratedly wide in fake surprise as they grilled me.
At that moment, it hit me. This was all a trap. Shania and Cassandra were teaming up to humiliate me, to strip me of any respect I had in the pack.
Soon after, my father's assistant arrived and cleared the room, leaving Shania and Cassandra alone to revel in my suffering.
As two warriors pulled me away to face my father, I tightened my fists and glared at Shania. "Why did you set me up?!" I demanded.
Shania smirked. "Chloe, you're so simple to manipulate. Who told you to be so gullible?"
"You've got no wolf spirit, and you hooked up with a witch's descendant. Just watch—everyone in the pack is going to reject you!"
"There's no place here for someone like you!"
Then she snapped, "Chloe, you're nothing but a worthless freak without a wolf, yet all the guys are drawn to you! I awakened my wolf before anyone else, but next to you, I'm invisible. You think I ever actually wanted to be friends with a wolf-less loser like you?!"
"If your dad weren't the alpha, I would've ripped you to pieces ages ago!"
I glared at her, my voice icy. "I always saw you as my closest friend. I never imagined you'd stoop this low.
"Or is this all about sucking up to Cassandra? You two teaming up to push me out so she can take over as alpha?
"What did my stepmother offer you?" I asked through clenched teeth.
Shania had no answer.
Cassandra stepped forward, a grin spreading across her face. "Guess you're not as stupid as I thought. Once you're out of the way, I'm next in line to lead Thunder Pack.
"I've got evidence to prove to Dad that you not only hooked up with a witch's descendant, but you've also been selling yourself for cash.
"Be prepared to be kicked out of the pack for good!"
"You bitches!" I screamed, trembling with fury as I lunged forward, intent on ripping their hair out with my bare hands.
They transformed into wolves instantly and dodged my attack like it was nothing.
I wished I could have transformed right then and tear them apart, but I didn't have a wolf. Shania and Cassandra, on the other hand, were true betas who could control their wolves whenever they wanted.
I couldn't even come close.
"Come on, Shania. She's not worth our time. It won't be long before Thunder Pack kicks out a wolf-less prostitute like her." After shifting back into their human forms, they left without even looking at me.
...
Two warriors dragged me back to the the Taylors' residence.
"You weren't allowed to study abroad, so you snuck off and did this just to make money? And now you're mixed up with a witch's descendant too?
"I'm the alpha of Thunder Pack, and you've brought shame to my name! How am I supposed to explain this to the elders?" my father roared in fury.
"Dad, it's not like that—"
"Chloe, you are the daughter of an alpha. How dare you go to that place to sell your body for money?" My stepmother, Jennifer Taylor, sat casually on the couch, adding fuel to the fire.
"Dad, I won't confess to something I haven't done! This—" I pleaded and lifted my head defiantly to explain.
But my father wasn't interested in hearing any excuses. He cut me off harshly, "You're still trying to deny it? I don't have a shameless daughter like you!
"As the alpha of Thunder Pack, I now command you to leave this house and Thunder pack!" Zack Taylor shouted in anger.
"Dad!"
My body shook, struggling to stay standing as I begged, "Please, just trust me this one time. Let me explain, I—"
"Quiet!" he snapped.
His gaze was icy, his expression unchanged as he snapped at me.
"You're forbidden to call me 'Dad.' You are not my daughter."
"As Alpha, my daughter cannot be a weakling who has no wolf—let alone one having an affair with a witch's descendant! Get out of my sight!"
My mind went numb, and my body wavered, as though struck with a powerful blow. I collapsed to the floor, unable to stay upright.
