Chapter 9
Mark pov
Katia crashed four times that night. It was the longest night of our lives. Kelp and I held on to her hands, only letting go when the doctor would yell clear so he could use the machine. She came back each time. We know she wants to spare her wolf any more pain and that she doesn't think she can endure much more. However, we are formulating a plan. This plan would mean she would have to spend some time in the dungeons. Kelp and I will stay with her as much as possible. Pack members have volunteered to stay with Katia when one or both of us cannot.
We are still the beta and gamma to the Alpha Thomas, although he disgusts us. We need to remain in our position. Once Thomas orders her to dungeons, we need to have access to her and the ability to move around freely. Katia has not had any more issues. She has been resting peacefully for about eight hours now. It will not be long before the Alpha gives the order to move her to the dungeons to begin her punishment.
"Mark, she is getting stronger. I can feel some of the pain she is in now, and the numbness she was experiencing is gone. I think I can sense her wolf, too."Kelp ran over and said with surprise.
Mark was staring at Katia, "Do you think she is going to be angry with us? You know about anchoring her here and not letting her go."
"I don't know. Sometimes, when I look at her, I see the little girl that she still is and forget that her life experiences have made her much more mature than she should be." Running his hand through his hair while staring at her face, he continues, "I just kept thinking this could not be what the moon goddess wanted for one of her touched ones. If we can get her through this part of her life, there is a fated mate for her. He will love her, heal her, and make all of the rest seem like a bad dream."
"If he doesn't, I'll kill him."Kelp gritted his teeth and said.
"Mark, Alpha is on his way into Katia's room."Coral suddenly rushed in and said.
"Thanks, Coral."Mark nodded and immediately ran over to tell Kelp."Fuck, Alpha is coming."
Kelp's eyebrows furrowed."Already? Goddess! She barely made it through the night." We both sat on the folded-up cots on each side of her bed.
"Ah, I see my dependable beta and gamma have been doing their job guarding the prisoner and keeping their Alpha safe." he stated, walking into the room. Kelp started to say something, and I just shook my head at him to let it go. "So, our little attempted murderer looks to be healing without any problems."
"Without any Problems!" Doc said, walking into the room. Alpha, this poor child, spent hours on the training field while I worked on her enough to get her to the operating room. She was coding as we brought her in. Once we got her back, we worked on her for another fourteen hours. Once she was stable and I had hoped we were out of the woods, she crashed four more times last night. It has barely been 32 hours since you tore this child to pieces in anger and you want to say she seems to be healing without problems?"
"You forget who you are speaking to, doctor." Doc looks up from checking on Katia, 'No Alpha, I do not forget anything. You don't like that. I am not afraid to die for speaking up for a child who truly will never speak again now because of you and your disgusting twisted lust. Throw me in the dungeon with her then. Or throw me in the dungeon instead of her. I will gladly serve her punishment. Or does it make you feel more of a man to abuse, torture, and punish someone smaller than you?"
"Steven, you are overstepping the boundaries. Just because we have been friends forever doesn't mean you can talk to me anyway you want."
He gestures towards Katia, "I was simply trying to train her in the correct ways to be my luna. All she had to say was one word, show some emotion, and it wouldn't have reached the level it did. But no, she just stood there. Her wolf decided to come forward and attack me."
"Bullshit Thomas! Her wolf was too young to come forward yet. You gave her no other choice." Doc looked like he was doing everything he could to hold his wolf back.
"The why doesn't matter, she still attacked an Alpha. Just to appease you, Steven, I'll allow her one night in here, and then she goes to the dungeons."Alpha, Thomas commanded.
"Thank you, Alpha, for being so lenient."
Kelp linked me, saying, "Can you say sarcasm?"
"I am not sure what doc thinks he's doing. But at least we don't have to move her until the morning. "
Thomas looked at the girl lying with a machine still breathing for her. He snarls, "She goes to the dungeons first thing in the morning regardless of her medical status. She gets no special treatment. " Spinning on his heel, he heads toward the door, "And she is to be at the training field tied to the post with silver chains three days from tomorrow. "
Then he was gone. What the hell!
"So, if she's not awake and off the machine, we just tie her to the pole machine and all?"
"I don't know Kelp. I don't know. Alpha is not right in his mind. I think losing his temper and killing our last Luna, his fated mate, has done something to him."
We stayed the rest of the day in the hospital room with Katia under the pretense of guarding the prisoner. Protecting our Alpha in case she coma walks and tries to kill him.
Pack members visited through the day inquiring about their Luna’s health and bringing us food.
Katia had no other health spirals during the night, and then the next morning, we moved her to the dungeons, machines, and all.
Goddess please help her to be strong when she awakes to this.
