Chapter 34 The Secret Of The Locket
He had just said this when Derrick interrupted him and said, "What Uncle feared has finally happened. My stepmother's people were looking for me everywhere. Along with this, she had given all my criminal records to the police so that if I did not fall into her hands, I would be caught by the police. The police were also searching for me everywhere. Now, for me, it was like a well on one side and a ditch on the other. If I had fallen into the hands of my stepmother, she would have made Harris a criminal like me and even if I had surrendered myself to the police, the world would not have let Harris live. The police also banned Uncle Dave's license and prohibited him from going anywhere. If I had called him, he would also have got into trouble because of me. But at that time, I needed a place to hide, but I did not know where to go where no one could find me. Only then could I raise Harris well. One day, while hiding from the police and my stepmother, I reached this place and, after that, I started living here, hiding. This place was in the deepest part of the forest, so nobody was expected to come this way."
Saying this, he looked towards his house and further said, "This small house that you are seeing today. There was nothing here at that time. There were big thorny bushes here. Somehow, I cut it and made a small hut to protect myself and Harris. I had made arrangements to cover my head, but the real problem was food. I could still have stayed hungry, but Harris was just five months old at that time, and it was most important for him to drink milk. I didn't understand from where I should arrange milk for him. Then my eyes fell on Harris's blanket. I looked at it carefully and saw a pocket in it. Seeing that, I remembered that I had brought that blanket specially for Harris, so that if we had to go somewhere, we could put some of Harris's stuff in that blanket, so that we did not face much trouble. When I opened that pocket, I found a packet of dry milk, a Harris milk bottle and some packets of chips, which Oliva had probably put in to avoid trouble while leaving Spain. This solved my problem. It was raining at that time, so I collected rain water in a bottle and added some dry milk to it to make milk and fed it to Harris. I also filled my stomach with a packet of chips. Harris could easily survive for two months with that packet of dry milk, and I would collect some fruits from the forest and fill my stomach with them. In this way, two months passed by. In two months, I had completely forgotten about the outside world. Also, my connection with Uncle Dave was broken. So when I went out to arrange for food, I did not expect to bump into Uncle Dave there. He was collecting some herbs at that time. As soon as I called him, he recognized me as soon as he saw me. He quickly hugged me and started asking about my well-being."
