Chapter 27 Suspicion

Outside, the typhoon raged wildly. The windows of old apartment buildings shattered, and the howling wind rushed in, echoing through the corridors like ghostly wails. The streets were submerged under rising floodwaters. I assumed that by now, many people understood this was not a normal hurricane. It was a once-in-a-century super typhoon, a terrifying and prolonged calamity.
