Chapter 6 Black Magic

Elizabeth's POV: I have been hiding my identity and living among werewolves for many years. Using magic, I concealed my aura and gave myself a youthful, beautiful face. I disguised myself as a university student and enrolled in Werewolf University, where I found an easy-to-deceive, low-alert fool—George Wood—to serve as my servant. But I wasn't here just to amuse myself among these foul-smelling werewolves. I was searching for a precious gemstone. Rumor had it that if I obtained the gem and let my blood drip onto it, I would gain a mysterious fortune. I searched for 30 years. Just when I was about to give up and leave werewolf territory, I discovered that George's fated mate was wearing the very gemstone I had been desperately seeking around her neck. "The gem, my gem!" My heart screamed with longing. But the elder witches had warned me that gems worn by werewolves couldn't be stolen, nor could magic be used to take them. The original owner had to willingly give it to me. Otherwise, it would turn into an ordinary stone. Lying in my small room, I tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep. No matter how hard I thought, I couldn't come up with a suitable plan. Then, my eyes fell on the flowers George had given me. Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck me. ... "George, you'll give me whatever I want, won't you?" I caressed George's face and, while he was distracted, cast a black magic on him—a magic that would make him madly in love with me. Of course, the magic wasn't foolproof. If he still cared about his mate deep down, my magic wouldn't take effect. To my delight, it worked like a charm. "George, I want the crystal pendant around Eva's neck," I leaned close to his ear, whispering. "Of course, Babe. Anything you want, I'll get it for you." As far as I knew, George's mate, Eva, always listened to him. If nothing unexpected happened, I'd have the pendant in my hands soon. With an elated heart, I followed George to his mate's apartment. But no matter how long he knocked, there was no response. "What's going on? Isn't she home?" I asked impatiently. Every second of waiting was pure agony. "Impossible. She's definitely inside." George continued pounding on the door, and my irritation grew. Still, I forced a pleasant smile. Finally, Eva opened the door—only to mock George. She called him my dog? Well, technically, I did treat him like a dog, but to the best of my knowledge, George detested the comparison. In his eyes, dogs were far inferior to werewolves, as they were less intelligent and less powerful. I signaled him to stay calm. No matter what, Eva had to willingly give me that pendant. But then, the unexpected happened. Not only did Eva taunt George, but she outright refused his request. The moment I heard her rejection, anger flared inside me. My gaze locked onto the pendant at her neck. I wanted to snatch it right then and there! Why?! Why wouldn't she give it to me?! She had no idea of the true value of that crystal pendant! To her, it was nothing more than an ordinary accessory. I felt both heartache and fury—heartache that I had failed to obtain the pendant this time, and fury that Eva refused to give it to me willingly. "Destroy it! Destroy it!" A voice roared in my mind. Just as I was about to use black magic to shatter the pendant, Eva shut the door. I was stunned. George was stunned, too. Seething with anger, we hurricaneed away from Eva's apartment. In the end, I made my demand clear, "George, I like that necklace. No matter what, I must have it!" This time, I didn't use black magic on George, yet he still responded with unwavering devotion, "Babe, don't worry. I'll make sure Eva gives it to you." I smiled in satisfaction. Eva likely had no idea how to use the pendant anyway. Foolish werewolves could never be as clever as us witches.
