Rachel POV The air inside the packed nightclub was thick, a heavy mix of alcohol, cigarette smoke, and something sour I’d rather not identify. Flashing blue and red lights pulsed frantically, washing over the sweaty bodies moving to the deafening thump of electronic music. The bass vibrated in my chest, but it couldn’t drown out the emptiness throbbing inside me.
