Chapter 8 (Pain)

Selene I almost drowned myself when I got into my room early this morning. I tried to scrub away his touch and the feeling I felt from being laid by him. “It hurts” I whispered as tears formed a cloth in my eyes blocking my line of sight while I remembered how he ushered me out of his room with anger despite falling and limping. “I’d wipe my tears and woman up if I were you” Lyra chided me. She always eluded this strong aura compared to how weak and vulnerable I was. “You can try to be a little bit nicer” I rolled my eyes while she scoffed. “As much as I hate to admit it, we are nothing but a breeder to the Alpha and we need to be strong and try not to get our hopes high even if he treats us well” Lrya advised me which happens to be her longest speech in a while now. I felt a feeling of satisfaction knowing that even though she didn't say much, I knew she loved and cared for me. “Lyra, I love how you love me” I let my tears fall freely while I tried to wipe them off. “I don't have a choice” She jeered, making me chuckle sadly. After my little conversation with Lyra, I let whatever happened slide as I prepare to endure the more to come. I dressed in a beautiful attire accentuating my curves, one thing he made sure of was to fill my wardrobe with nice outfits through Emery. I was combing my hair out when I heard the door knob click and Emery walked in “Speak of the devil” I mumbled. “Someone is glowing, how did it go?” She clasped her hands in excitement while I shook my head. “It happened” I let her know. “Okay, did you enjoy it?” She asked while I let out a cough. “Am I supposed to enjoy it?” I retorted knowing deep down that I enjoyed every bit of it even though I hate to admit it. “I have a feeling that you are lying but I will let it slide” She mused, I exhaled knowing that I won't have to explain my ordeal with the Alpha. “It's breakfast time and I am here to fetch you” She uttered in a lovely tone. “I don't think…” “There is no way I am letting you eat in here, you are coming with me” She insisted as if she could read my thoughts. “Fine” I stood up and headed to the dining room with her. Standing in front of the dining door, I tried not to show any form of pain knowing that he would be inside there “Are you okay?” Emery's concerned voice sounded close to my ears while I nodded entering the dining room. He was there, I could sense his rich aroma but I refused to meet his gaze. I mumbled greetings in his direction and greeted every other person. I found Lucien’s eyes sparkling in excitement as I met his stare, he waved at the seat beside him, making me walk over and settle in it. “You look stunning” He complimented while I chuckled in return. “It's rare to see you here” I exclaimed, while he shrugged giving out his boyish grin. “Thank you” I smiled as he dished out some steak for me. I felt a heated gaze towards my direction, I knew who it was from but I remained unfazed. I was enjoying my meal as Lucien threw a few conversations at me when I heard Olivia's plummy voice say “Your breeder is flirting with your cousin, that's epic” I threw a glare at her while she shot me a lopsided grin. I muffled some curses as I watched the Alpha grip his fork before releasing it. Somehow I felt satisfied at making him feel hurt but I knew I was playing with fire. After breakfast, we all went our separate ways while I headed to my room to get some sleep. Hours later The banging on my door felt like a dream, I tried to block it away from my ears with the aid of a pillow but it didn't stop. I walked sluggishly to the door “ Madam Olivia asked me to fetch you, she is in the Alpha’s chamber” The maid eyed me with a look of disdain. “And you are?” I asked, amused at the unexpected enemy added to the cart. “Her personal maid” She blurted, folding her hands together. “That explains why, I will join her shortly” I banged the door on her face not wanting to hear her voice any further. “Just great” I rolled my eyes, washed my face, arranged myself, and headed to the Alpha's room. I ushered myself in after I heard her asking me “You sent for me?” I asked her, she covered herself with a duvet with her hair looking disheveled. “Yes I did” “Olivia you should come shower” I heard the Alpha say softly as he stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and water dripping from his perfectly toned body. It occurred to me that they just had sex and the fact that he was treating her better churned my stomach with pain and sadness. “Good afternoon Alpha” I greeted in a low tone. He eyed me before facing her “You need her for something?” “Yes, I wanted her to get me an ice pack and a glass of warm water. I feel sore you didn't take it easy on me baby” She whined sweetly while I cringed at the sound and I could hear Lyra scoffing. “I am sorry baby, you heard her” He pecked her forehead before facing me, I nodded my head and stepped out of the room. “She had to rub it in,” Lrya screeched. “I am telling you that bitch is something else but I know what to do” I felt my mischievousness kicking in. “What the hell?” Olivia shrieked as the hot water touched her tongue, the Alpha rushed towards her direction pushing me aside. “What's wrong?” “She gave me a glass of hot water instead of a warm one, she did it on purpose” She whimpered. I didn't even know how it happened but everything within my hold fell to the ground after he slapped me “Have you lost it?” He uttered in a raucous tone while I held my cheeks almost in tears. “I…I” “Go and wait in my office” He commanded while I scurried away. A few minutes later, I felt the loud bang on his office door as he rushed towards me gripping my jaw. “You have bitten more than you can chew.” He breathed roughly on my face while I let out a shaky breath feeling extremely scared. “I am sorry, I didn't mean to” I lied in a brittle tone while he hit his desk making me jump in fear. “Shut up” He yelled, the door pushed open as Adrain rushed in. “Get the servants over” He ordered Adrain who mindlinked them. Two servants rushed into his office bowing their heads “Take her to the dungeon. Make sure she doesn't eat or get anything to drink till I say so” He instructed them. I fell to my feet “Please, I am sorry” I pleaded but he didn't even cast a glance at me. I felt my shoulders being hurdled roughly by these men as they dragged me out of the office into the dungeon. The clang of the metal door shutting behind me was a harsh reminder of the confinement I felt, and Adrain's sympathetic gaze only added to my distress. “It won't be easy to change his mind,” he said, his words filling me with trepidation as I feared the unknown consequences that lay ahead.
