Chapter 6 (Olivia And Lucien)
Selene
I couldn't sleep last night after the encounter with the Alpha, I was scared of what would happen considering the look on his face.
Tossing on my bed, I heard the sound on the door “Who could that be?”I clutched my head feeling light-headed
“Come in” I yelled as the door pushed open revealing Emery.
“Hi”, She gave a cheesy grin while I rolled my eyes with a knowing look.
“How did it go?” She asked, settling beside me.
“I chickened out,” I replied in a groggy tone.
“Ouch, you will be fine” She patted me lightly.
“Freshen up, breakfast is served” She added.
“Can I eat here?, I can't face him after last night” I pleaded, flickering my brows at her.
“It is not in my power, don't keep everyone waiting” She appealed to me.
“Fine” I replied flatly, as I sauntered into the bathroom.
We both headed to the dining room, his scent was evident in my nose as my heart raced beyond control. I couldn't fail to notice how he doted on the lady sitting beside him.
“Who is she?” I whispered to Emery.
“Olivia, Alpha's lover” She whispered back as my mouth formed an “O” shape. They looked good together, it saddened me a bit.
We got closer to him as we exchanged greetings, I greeted the lady politely but she wasn't up for it.
She complained about me eating with them, which I supported because I didn't want to be here but the Alpha insisted I ate with them.
After breakfast, Emery took me around the pack to get me familiar with the whole place.
“I have to be somewhere, I will see around” She patted my shoulder while I nodded in return.
I wanted to return to my room because I was feeling the after-effects of not having a good night's rest.
I bumped into Olivia in the living room “Get me a glass of juice” She said to no one in particular as I observed the space to figure out it was only the both of us in it.
“I am sorry what?” I asked with a frown on my face.
“Are you deaf?” She asked, glaring at me like she owned this place.
“Why am I always unlucky?” I mentally screamed.
“Was about asking you that” My wolf taunted, she has a great sense of humor.
“I heard what you said the first time and I am not your slave. If you want juice, go and get it yourself” I blurted out.
“Excuse you?” She charged, standing to her feet.
“You are excused” I replied, folding my hands. I am very good at pissing off people.
“Do you know what I mean to Damian? if I were to cry to him, you would be as good as dead” She threatened me.
I chuckled sadly “What's the worst that could happen, I have been through a lot for your threat to scare me” I replied calmly, pain evident in my voice.
“Go and get me a glass of juice, I won't repeat myself ” She insisted while I attempted to walk off.
Thud!! I fell to the ground as she slapped me across the face unexpectedly.
“What is happening here?” I heard his voice bellow into the living room as Olivia started feigning tears.
“Bitch” I cursed inwardly, while Adrain helped me to my feet.
“Are you okay?” Adrain asked, looking concerned while I nodded at him.
“What happened here?” Alpha Damian ordered.
“I begged her to get me a glass of juice but she insulted me instead” She pouted almost in tears while I cringed at the tone of her voice.
“Are you okay?” His tone softened as he turned in my direction.
“Me, y..yes, I am fine” I stuttered, perplexed at the tone of his voice.
He hummed “Come with me” He dragged Olivia along with him.
“She is a handful” I sighed while Adrain chuckled in return.
“Just stay clear from her” He advised and walked off.
I just couldn't sleep after the slap so I headed to the garden instead, watching the flowers and the little insect made me a little emotional.
“I wish I was like you all, free from the trouble of the world” I ranted softly.
Ever since I came here, the only thing on my mind is to find my identity and take revenge on everyone who has caused me pain.
Lost in my trance, I felt a light tap on my shoulder making me jolt and alert of my surroundings.
“What bothers you?” The handsome man with a boyish grin asked as he sat at the far end of the bench.
I eyed him “Nothing, just admiring nature” I replied, tearing my glance away from him.
“It doesn't seem like it” He mumbled but didn't interfere further.
The silence became unbearable so I voiced out “Life can be so unfair, I wish I could be a butterfly and live amongst these flowers”.
“That would be a waste of beauty, when life gives you a lemon, make a lemonade out of it,” He said in a guttural tone while I peeked at him intensively.
“Who are you?” I asked when I finally found my voice.
“Lucien, Alpha’s cousin, and you?” He held my gaze.
“Selene, his breeder” I bowed my head slightly in shame.
“You want to see something?” He asked.
“Huh?”
He dragged me along with him leading me outside and into a tiny room.
“Wow, these drawings are so beautiful” I gushed while glancing around the room.
“You drew them?” I turned to face him, while he nodded, scratching his neck slightly.
“You don't seem proud about it?” I studied his countenance.
“I am but my brother thinks it is irrelevant” He looked somewhat sad.
“Listen, no one has the right to control what you do, this is a great talent” I turned towards the drawing admiring them once more.
“Thanks, I could teach you and I could draw you too” He offered, bowing his head slightly.
“Are you always this shy?” I teased making him scratch his neck.
“Well…” He dragged his foot as I giggled in return.
“I would love to learn and trust me I would love a drawing of me as well” I responded.
“Okay cool, I will teach you” He led me outside, and we talked about a lot of random things.
“How come I haven't seen you since I got here?” I implored.
“I am not into all this Alpha stuff and ruling, it comes with a lot of responsibility. I just dismissed myself from them” He replied, his hands folded behind his back.
My time with Lucien was a good one, at least he made me forget my encounter with Olivia and reduce the tension of my purpose here.
“Lucien” I called out to him when I noticed his attention was stuck somewhere else but he didn't bulge.
I tapped him gently and he jolted in fear “Shit, you shouldn't be here” Terror written in his countenance.
I heard hurried footsteps, the look on Emery’s face as she got closer to us was quite apprehensive.
“Did something happen?” I muttered, my heart beating rapidly at every step she took closer to us.
