Chapter 8 I Am Done

The thought of the beautiful homeowner wearing these close-fitting clothes was irresistible, leaving one parched with thirst. Well, as a very normal man, Lucius couldn't help but get aroused. Renee, who had been standing beside Lucius, also noticed his gaze. In a fit of anger, she said, “Where are you looking? Keep staring and I'll have to gouge out your eyeballs!” Even she, a woman who had been around the world of pleasure for years, felt a little embarrassed. It was her own fault for being so impulsive earlier, not putting away her intimate garments before destroying the bathroom. “I say, in this situation, you shouldn't be looking for me. You should be looking for a contractor,” Lucius said, his forehead furrowing. With the bathroom in this condition, how could he even begin to repair it? What? Aren't you supposed to be an all-rounder handyman? Can't handle this little bit of work?” Renee said with a cold laugh. “If that's the case, I should remind you that the delay cost will be on you.” Lucius' eyes widened. “Delay cost? I haven't even started the job yet. Where's the delay cost?” Renee tilted her chin and glanced at him, “You're the one parading around as an all-rounder handyman, scamming people. I come to you, and you can't do it. I was waiting to use this bathroom, and now you're wasting my time. Don't you think you need to compensate me? I haven't even reported you for fraud yet.” “D*mmit!” Lucius swore. “Even if you don't like me, there's no need to do this. Did I offend you? Was it just because I took a few hundred from you this afternoon? Is that enough to make me hated? To get back at me, you're willing to destroy your own bathroom?” This was clearly a set-up. This woman was crazy. Lucius now strongly suspected that she had created this mess herself just to trouble him. “I did it. What are you going to do about it?” Renee said smugly. She had been in a bad mood lately, and just happened to run into Lucius. If she wasn't going to vent her anger on him, then who? “I'm done catering to your whims. Do whatever you want. If you want to report me, go ahead. I may not be well-educated, but I don't believe such trivial matters will even make it to court,” Lucius replied angrily. Renee sat back smugly. “Well, let's give it a shot. I could also report you for trespassing, burglary, or attempted assault. Once you stepped through my door, I had plenty of reasons.” Lucius was furious inside. “Lady, have you hit menopause or something? Are you out of your mind? If you're so capable, go find that scammer who tricked you, why are you holding onto me?” “I like it, what's it to you?” Renee felt a sense of satisfaction at seeing Lucius flustered. Lucius, who wasn't afraid of anything, had never been humiliated like this. He steeled his resolve, grabbed his toolbox, and was about to leave. “Hello, 911? I want to report something...” As soon as Lucius heard Renee making the call, he snapped. Quickly turning around, he snatched the phone from her and said, “Fine, fine, I'll fix it, okay? You're really something else. Fine, I'm not your match.” Under Renee's intimidation, Lucius had no choice but to give in. He wasn't afraid of her calling the police. A trivial matter like this would be quickly dismissed even if it went to the station. However, he didn't have the time or energy for such trouble. Looking at the wreckage of the bathroom, Lucius sighed in frustration. The scale of the job was so huge, it seemed impossible he'd finish before midnight. This kind of minor repair was nothing difficult for Lucius. He had repaired everything from airplanes to tanks to submarines—what were a few pipes compared to that? Fortunately, the property management of this complex was reliable, and they had some common materials on hand. Lucius made a call, and they sent over the supplies, saving him a lot of hassle. Filled with humiliation, Lucius grabbed the woman's intimate garments from the clothes hanger and used them as rags. Oddly enough, they felt smooth and silky, causing some unexpected stirring in his thoughts. Renee's face turned crimson with fury, but she dared not speak out. If she had a weapon in hand, she believed she would've struck Lucius in the back of the head without hesitation. After spending over an hour, Lucius finally replaced all the pipes. He sighed in relief, pulled out a cheap Lucky Strike cigarette—one that even street sweepers wouldn't want to smoke—and lit it. “All done. As for your toilet and sink, there's nothing I can do. You'll have to go to a store that sells bathroom products tomorrow. They should offer installation services,” Lucius said, grabbing his toolbox and walking out of the bathroom. He turned to Renee, who was lazily lounging on the living room couch. Without waiting for her response, Lucius stretched out his hand, demanding payment. “Time to settle up. Eight hundred. I'll give you a nine point nine eight percent discount, so it is seven hundred and ninety-eight. Round it up, and it's still eight hundred.”
